I have been working at Safe Software full-time

    Pros

Great company culture, fantastic co-workers. Can be proud of what we do and the product we make. Beautiful work space with private offices, a massage room, a great gym. Lunch options are stocked by someone who cares and brings a great variety of things. There are opportunities to participate in lunch time soccer, hockey, running, and yoga. Bike to work is hugely supported (mud room for cycling folks). Olympics and World Cup soccer viewing on the big screen on comfy couches. Flexible schedules, work-life-balance (and family) are important. Don and Dale are great visionaries and leaders.

    Cons

Business park is in Surrey. You have to drive or take transit which requires a bus and can take a long time if you are coming from North Shore or Vancouver. Not a lot of food options in the area - makes it harder for going out for lunch or even socializing after work.

    Advice to Management

Keep being innovative and ahead of the technology curve. The culture will be the hardest thing to maintain as we grow as a company.

    Pros

Get to work with smart, fun and interesting people.

    Cons

There are not a lot of restaurants close by.

  3. Great place to work

    Pros

Get to have your own office with a door and the vibe is great. Profit sharing is a nice added benefit as well as the annual Christmas gifts.

    Cons

No restaurants within walking distance except for Puccino's Coffee Bar which is mediocre at best considering the priciness. Standup desks are only given to those who have been there a while.

    Advice to Management

Give everyone the option of having a standup desk. Convert the canteen into a proper cafeteria for those who do not wish to spend time preparing a meal and do not want to drive several blocks to a fast food place.

I worked at Safe Software full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Humble, happy, healthy, playful people. Work-life balance is terrific, senior management values families and want you to spend time with them. Fully stocked kitchen, games room, TV, private offices for everyone!

    Cons

Some grumpy / unhappy people, but also some very positive people. You're probably going to get that anywhere though. They didn't cover MSP while I was there. Hard to gauge how you're doing, probably varies from manager to manager however.

    Advice to Management

Cover MSP, encourage employees to move around laterally, support employees in refining their skills through training or courses, give regular feedback to employees on their personal performance and contribution to the company.

I have been working at Safe Software full-time

    Pros

Smart and sincere people. You don't have to engage in politics like some other places. Work/Life Balance, Flextime, Work From Home. Automatic raises and profit sharing. Company events, and little touches such as unexpected gifts that are actually useful. The owners really do care.

    Cons

Somewhat of a homogeneous culture which may not appeal to all people. Product change/growth is slower than some other companies.

I have been working at Safe Software as an intern

    Pros

Great work culture, no long hours, lunchtime sports, most people get an office, the work is interesting. Excellent company leadership. Company team building days, free drinks, cheap food on site. Good training program.

    Cons

Company is doing well, but not rapidly growing. The location is not great, not near any shops or decent transit. Can be isolating being in an office by yourself.
