Safelite AutoGlass is a fast paced company that is usually understaffed producing a overworked and stressful workplace.

Store Manager (Former Employee)
Salinas, CA

I worked at Safelite full-time for more than 10 years

ProsCompany vision and policies are well thought out and produce exceptional revenue on a year to year basis.Safelite uses its leverage as a large corporation well in the auto glass industry.

ConsStressful work environment, whose primary goal is to make a large profit by understaffing the workforce creating a stressful and unproductive environment. Ideas and policy are often contradictory to stated goals making managing a local store difficult in light of producing significant KPI performance.Policy is very often a knee jerk reaction to short term goals even if they are detrimental to long term stated goals.

Advice to Senior ManagementRelieve the pressure from local management by implementing a structure that is attainable in a reasonable time frame. Increase office staffing to create a sound base structure to support field operations.
Improve warehouse glass delivery system by holding that department to the quality standards that are expected of the local store.

Has the potential to be a really good company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Safelite

ProsI think the pay if very fair for what is asked of you. In the right position the upward opportunities are there.

ConsThe in-fighting has gotten much worse over my time here. Mid-level executives are fighting to get their next promotions and have created an "us vs them" situation. This isn't unusual in corporate settings but the amount seems disproportionate to the company size. I wish there was more of a consensus effort to work together and everyone move the company forward instead of individual agendas getting in the way.

Advice to Senior ManagementRun the company like a public company - better decisions about how $ are spent and made.

Challenge each other rather than having your teams attack the teams of other Execs - very passive aggressive
