I have been working at Safelite

    Pros

Paid 2 month training, plenty of work, other technicians are more then willing to help you if you have an issue at a job site if they are available, majority of tools provided, company vehicle to take home.

    Cons

Dispatch has bad habit of handing out crazy routes concerning distance & time frames. You may have 5 jobs in your territoy, 4 may be morning appointments and one of those may even be 100 miles away! It is then left to you to juggle the customers and call to reschedule their desired time frame.

Other cons include having the wrong windshield assigned for a customer (by customer service), you usually won't know until you get to customers house (really sucks if you had to drive 60 miles to get there).

Weather can be problematic but you should know that your in for that, this is outside work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For the most part, management does the best for what they have to work with. My boss was out there doing his job the best he could. Hard worker, I respect that.

Great experience learning how to sell and obtain sales goals. Pay was great. This is an awesome summer job.

    Cons

Very heavy handed when it comes to scrutinizing for sales goals. Have to work one weekend day.

I worked at Safelite part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great training
-Bull pen is nice because it gives employees a feel for the call center in real time
    -Easy to use system
-The supervisors are all really friendly

    Cons

-I didn't feel they were clear when it came to logging hours or how to use the system when coming back for breaks
    -Short lunch break

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So employees do not get dinged for being late after their break I feel the training should be more extensive on when to log in/off of the system.

I worked at Safelite part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The company is pretty flexible with a good culture. It's not the worst paid call center out there. It's not the best. There is potential to earn more and there is potential to work as little as you want (though not as much as you want).

    Cons

The VP once asked me, verbatim, "would you rather have nice bathrooms or health insurance?" This was said completely unironically. He really meant it. That ought to give you some insight into the bogus culture at Safelite. They hire only part time, with no benefits, and treat their employees miserably. They expect you to work grueling shifts with no internet access during downtimes, no ability to read books or do anything except sit and stare, no food or drinks at your desk. This is not a pleasant environment to work in, no matter how nice their bathrooms are.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees! Offer benefits and health insurance - even to part timers, since you only hire part time anyway.

I have been working at Safelite full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Hours, uniforms, people who work there are funny to say the least.

    Cons

Seen managers come and go pay is awefull, See fellow workers come and go. Start on monday usually quit tuesday becomes old quick. Everything changes (rules) on a weekly bases. Always saying there firing someone becomes very funny. Only people that stay can't find work anywhere else. Walmart is probable better. Im one that can't find anything else as of yet still triing thou.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train people treat them equal. Pay more so they would stay
