Solid company, but tough for career advancement.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsWell-run, profitable company.
    -Job stability
-Good work environment, everybody is friendly
-Good benefits: matching 401K, tuition reimbursement
-Very easy to apply for internal job postings and they seem to really focus on hiring from within whenever possible.

    Stable and profitable

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros- Company has done well moving to a competitive Auto landscape and has worked hard to increase product offerings and market directly to its insureds while maintaining focus on its agents.
    - The company is managed very well, is continually profitable, and financially sound - stock price, dividends, and buy-backs are all on the increase.
    - We have fixed-hour work weeks that everyone follows and good benefits such as 401K matching, full tuition reimbursement, etc.
    - Great place to get your foot in the door and move on to other departments.
    - May folks have move on to professional roles, earned their BA/BS degrees, and have gone on to masters degrees.
    - Opportunity for stable pay increases each year.

Cons- It's insurance. Don't expect big paychecks, tons of growth, etc. It's a slow-and-steady business.
    - Old timers may be resistant to new ideas and processes and can sometimes live in a bubble and not know/appreciate the challenges their peers may be facing outside the company. A fair amount of dead weight and hangers-on who would be clueless on how to survive on the outside.
    - Work environment may differ dramatically between departments. Some have great flexibiliy and opportunity while others are very metrics-driven and micro-managed.
    - Entry-level jobs don't accrue benefits as quickly as professional positions. Could use more holidays.
    - Best performers are officially limited in their pay increases and lack of growth means few new positions open to allow moving-up.
