    Pros

401k 8% matching, tuition reimbursement, dental, health... tons of benefits. Those who stay for more then 10 years seem to like it here.

    Cons

Intentionally lowest pay you will find on the bell curve. Inept middle managers. Micro managing VPs with no idea what their departments are afflicted with. Definitely a bottom-line comes first company. Employee satisfaction is of little concern.

    Advice to Management

Hire a management consulting firm ASAP

    Pros

I like the company. I worked there for 13 years. Walking to work, living in Boston, was a money saver for me. I had to pay peoples medical bills when they were hurt in a car accident.

    Cons

Getting rid of the customer service department, was detrimental to my work. It made my workload a lot harder.

    Advice to Management

Please get the customer service letter back.

    Pros

Health insurance benefits are good. Accrual of time off is fine, not stellar. Difficult to be fired once you have a grasp of the job.

    Cons

Entry level pay / be prepared to get a bare cost of living increase a year. Advancement is difficult - favoritism / nepotism is rampant.

    Pros

Great benefits, they will pay for full education. Location is nice, walking distance to aquarium.

    Cons

Heavy work load, no support system, no growth. Too much drama feels like your b s co in high school. Management doesn't communicate amongst each other

    Pros

Great work/life balance, generous 401k match, smart/sharp managers and coworkers, down to earth, ego-less atmosphere

    Cons

antiquated systems, work is not exciting, work environment is slow, no bonus, low pay

    Advice to Management

Reduce your salaries by 25% and implement an employee profit sharing and bonus program for all employees

    Pros

Well-run, profitable company. -Job stability -Good work environment, everybody is friendly -Good benefits: matching 401K, tuition reimbursement -Very easy to apply for internal job postings and they seem to really focus on hiring from within whenever possible.

    Cons

Small, conservative company with little turnover in management means it is tough for career advancement.

    Pros

    - Company has done well moving to a competitive Auto landscape and has worked hard to increase product offerings and market directly to its insureds while maintaining focus on its agents. - The company is managed very well, is continually profitable, and financially sound - stock price, dividends, and buy-backs are all on the increase. - We have fixed-hour work weeks that everyone follows and good benefits such as 401K matching, full tuition reimbursement, etc. - Great place to get your foot in the door and move on to other departments. - May folks have move on to professional roles, earned their BA/BS degrees, and have gone on to masters degrees. - Opportunity for stable pay increases each year.

    Cons

    - It's insurance. Don't expect big paychecks, tons of growth, etc. It's a slow-and-steady business. - Old timers may be resistant to new ideas and processes and can sometimes live in a bubble and not know/appreciate the challenges their peers may be facing outside the company. A fair amount of dead weight and hangers-on who would be clueless on how to survive on the outside. - Work environment may differ dramatically between departments. Some have great flexibiliy and opportunity while others are very metrics-driven and micro-managed. - Entry-level jobs don't accrue benefits as quickly as professional positions. Could use more holidays. - Best performers are officially limited in their pay increases and lack of growth means few new positions open to allow moving-up.

Seem to fire alot of adjusters ask management how many adjusters they have let go in the last 6 years

    Advice to Management

Look at work load more closely. You fire too many people. Getting a bad reputation
