Pros
Nations best are rewarded nicely to President's Council (been there twice!).
Very good benefits.
If you work hard, compensation is well above average of competing companies.
Graduated salary based on tenure.
Nice perks with companies that we are a supplier to.
My relationships with my customers and decent income have kept me around this long.
It is great knowing that you work for the leader in the industry.
Cons
Management at local level is clueless to the proper way to operate the oil recovery division.
Supreme micro-management is now in place and rearing it's ugly head.
Freedom to operate your territory as 'your own business' has gone by the wayside.
Have to work super long hours (10-12 hour days) to attempt to reach compensation needs that were reached with shorter work days (8-10 hour days) of years ago.
Communication from corporate office is rather lacking and they seem out of touch with what really goes on in the field.
Upper management, these days, doesn't listen to the rep's side of situations and will make decisions lacking in common sense.
Branches within this company need a dedicated bulk sales rep(oil recovery, vacuum service, antifreeze and windshield wash supply). Safety-Kleen is constantly whining that they "need more gallons!', yet refuse to put a dedicated slase rep for oil into place.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your tenured employees are operating their territories in an efficient and successful manner.
Put a bulk services sales rep into place immediately.
Cut back on the micro-managing and employees won't feel like they're 'walking on glass'
Pros
Great pay and benefits. Opportunity to advance.
Cons
Can be physically demanding. Not exactly family friendly.
Pros
Decent Benefits, pay is ok, people are very friendly, training is beginning to happen, especially the Six Sigma/ Lean training.
Cons
Watch your back- you will be taken advantage of especially by upper management. Mid management often do not have a clue simply there to sign off on hours worked; "good old boy" system is in place, help and assistance is only given to favorites. If you are not a favorite you will have more and more work piled on you - favorites shop online.....
Advice to Senior Management
Hire from with-in, there is plenty of talent utilize it. MORE training. Get rid of the useless managers so many do not have a clue what their employees do, but they are good at going to meetings all day.
Pros
Good benefits and co-workers in your department are nice to work with.
Very good training program and support to learn the business.
Cons
Micro-managers, long hours for low pay and to much administrtaive responsibility for the position. To many meetings that take away from time with customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop micro-managing and loading up your employees with to much paperwork. Let them do their jobs. Take a look in the mirror once in awhile.
Pros
Good Pay, Good People(Co-Workers), Matching 401K and Good Insurance
Cons
Incompetent people are hired to be Managers, Especially when not recruited from within the company
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within and don't shut out employees
Pros
The new hires get top notch education and hands on training that most businesses dream about. Co-workers are very eager to help make team successful.
Cons
Unknown work schedule weekly. I'm not going to be negative although there is plenty of things to be worked on.
Advice to Senior Management
Polishing brass on a sinking ship comes to mind in reference to certain parts of local EFS. It reminds me of a disfunctional business inside of a business.
Pros
Godd insurance for single employee.
Cons
having to handle multiple duties ie...material handler, janitor, product sales and others. Branch manager not worried about equipment failing. Branch manager more worried about revenue than customer service. Branch manager not worried about condition of building or facilites versus revenue.
Micro management from MSSR and BGM.. Not knowing or always changing route plans in the name of revenue versus customer needs. Area coverage, If you work outside a large city, you will drive several hindred miles to get a two thousand gallons of oil. Low pay. Average paycheck worked out to be 9.94 per hour. Pretty crappy for an individual with a class A, tanker, hazmat license.
BGM and MSSR telling customers that OSSR/VSSR/SSR will be at their location when they really have not intention of sending that rep.. TO MANY CONS TO LIST!!!
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management better look closely at revenue versus customers. Many individual customers may be small and are often passed up for better paying large revenue based cutomers. The little guy will tell his friends and so on and so on. Word of mouth in our community spread quickly about MSSR and BGM who would not return calls or made false promises.
Pros
Good company with growth opportunities. Interesting and diverse customer base and product lines.
Cons
Upper management is constantly up your ass. They track everything you do via salesforce.com and constantly redirect focus. Administrative and reporting requirements are very cumbersome and take up 30-40% of your time.
Advice to Senior Management
Let your sales people sell.
Pros
sometimes free food
coworkers somewhat friendly
provided free water to drink
Cons
no career advancement
mainly white trash, redneck management
must have a spit can in your cubicle
had to watch your back around management
management not valuable to the system, complete lazyness
Advice to Senior Management
management personal and above are just another number in the system
Pros
Pay and Compensation is not bad
Cons
No Respect
No Proessionalism
Negative Reinforcement
Complete Micromanagement
Safety Kleen wants a $150,000 employee from a $40,000 employee...It's not going to happen.
Advice to Senior Management
Have some respect and praise for your employees so they want to work for you.
This is the most unprofessional place I have ever worked at.
Most, if not all, of the employees here are miserable
