Pros
Does not require long hours, people are generally friendly and personable.
Cons
The cut every corner in terms of salary, benefits, perks, bonuses etc. The review process is insulting and is generally a joke. The people that work there are lazy and unmotivated. They do a horrible job with benefits. You have to dial a 1-800-number just to talk to HR (on the opposite coast). Overall it's probably the worst place I have worked in nearly 20 years.
Advice to Senior Management
You need to create a better corporate culture. Just because you are stuck with some loony corporate policies doesn't mean you have to treat people poorly.
Pros
Many locations to choose from to work at
Cons
Stale product lines, poor management, lost market share
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within before bringing outside talent in, some of the most qualified/talented people are right under your noses.
Pros
An overall learning experience. Engaging in all activities of marketing.
Cons
Sharing of information is hard to come by for some product group.
Advice to Senior Management
Decentralising may be good however collaboration between Opcos and HQ is very much needed.
Pros
Flexibility
Laid back dress code
Nice building with nearby running track, showers and covered parking
3 wks vacation to start
Good benefits
Cons
Lack-luster middle management
Software methodology that takes does not empower those how are doing the work
meetings, meetings, meetings
Useless metrics that are 'tweaked' when they don't match the desired goals
Advice to Senior Management
Step back and evaluate the value of employee feedback. It can be a useful tool in examining your processes and procedures or it can be used to weed out and fire those people who disagree with your vision.
Pros
Good job satisfaction and Flexible work schedule with good work-life balance. Products are updated and keep up with technology. Benefits are very good.
Cons
Company has gone through a lot of changes and layoffs. Less staff to do more without a pay increase. It is very difficult to get Promoted or a pay increase and performance reviews are meaningless.
Advice to Senior Management
You should continue to invest in your employees and providing compensation according to industry standards or you will risk losing some key individuals.
Pros
Focus on SAP implementation, willingness to listen to new ideas
Cons
Veteran employees should be treated with more respect. Some in management are not results oriented.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees at Irvine and Atlanta similarly.
Pros
Employees really care about customers and want to do right by them.
Laid back for the most part
Flexible
Cons
For a software company the technology just isn't there. I've never seen a technology company that couldn't get the Web right. They also lay off talented employees when mistakes are made by senior mang and executives.
Advice to Senior Management
Get IS together. It's turned into a joke.
Pros
little Management Supervision in some departments. Pretty quiet.
Cons
SAP is coming! SAP is coming! Basically, they are doing a new ERP implementation and getting rid of good folks.
Advice to Senior Management
Train the people that are there on the new incoming technology. They are loyal and have put up with a lot of secrecy.
Pros
There is a cadre of stable employees that have created a family like environment. Balancing work and life is a priority among employees
Cons
New management does not want honest input and values a culture of cover your own self versus produce a quality product.
Advice to Senior Management
Rethinkg the production model you have implemented and the impact it is having on quality, morale, and productivity. People are willing to produce quality work in a supportive environment.
Pros
work 8-5
if you can keep the grind, you can keep your job
Cons
little room for growth if you are a sales rep or in support
high pressure in sales and support
must take many many calls in support and make many many calls in sales
management treats most people like they do are uneducated
Advice to Senior Management
If you are in a position to take a very close look at the sales floor in Lawrenceville, please review the inequalities.
