Pros
They paid me regularly but other than that, it was a very uninspiring place to work.
Cons
Too focused on current profitability rather than on long term company, customer and employee success.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat people with more respect.
Pros
Exciting history with a great product idea. The members of the team were engaged and we worked very well together.
Cons
Sometimes it seems the company is trying to be too big, rather than keeping a focus on the product.
Advice to Senior Management
The resources are what make and break a company. Be aware of the potential that exists within and listen to them for helping to shape the future vision.
Pros
Great hard-working and dedicated teams and management
Cons
Lack of long-term business vision and commitment to innovation
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
The people who get the job done day-to-day are motivated and make the company a good place to be. Friendly, casual environment and lots to do.
Cons
Upper management decision making is questionable. Many "corporate" decisions made that make no sense at the local level.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't just give lip service to an excellent customer experience - do it!
Pros
access to big company resources
Cons
management, product direction, innovation of products vs. competition
Advice to Senior Management
invest in employee development and product futures
Pros
Since the management has no clue what is going on.....Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.
Cons
Sage has a systemic problem in it's management. I don't think anyone has the knowledge or experience to fix it either....too bad. But at least i have a paycheck while i look for work elsewhere. :)
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management needs to go! So leave already!
Pros
Money can be decent (supposedly a handful make up to 90K), most make 50-70K
Cons
Clock in and out like a retail grunt. Management is belligerent. Employees are treated poorly. Ideas are dismissed. Sales are decreasing year over year over year. Same management, poor decisions continue.
Advice to Senior Management
You people really need to get over yourself. Not one of you (all the way up to the director) is great. Maybe a couple of you are good (but if you think it is you, it probably isn't), but none of you are great. How do I know? I've been around great management so is is easy to identify poor management. Frankly, if your team hasn't increased sales year over year, you have no reason to believe you are any good. And quite possibly you should be fired!! Instead, you intimidate your workers and if they don't succeed you fire them. Idiots.
Pros
Only good for benefits, and paid Leave.
Cons
Bait in Switch (told one thing in interview, switched up upon higher (Comp Plan)
Base is well below industry standard (5 plus year exp) and still want to start you at low $30's?
Pressure Monthly contiues to be unbearable, managers begin to micromanage. locate you if you are away from desk more than 10 minutes.
UN-ethical work environment where only the vets thrive and the newcomers fight to survive.
Advice to Senior Management
Please review your sales practices, and model after more successful companies that really care about their customers and not only interested in milkin them dry with continued pressure for asking or insisting for their business (mailers, emails, and redundant amount of harrassing phone calls.
Pros
Opportunities to move within organization
Cons
Never ending rounds of layoffs
Company has little regard for employees
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees as assets and not disposables
Pros
3 weeks vacation
6 sick days
401k
Health Benefits
It's a job in today's economy
Free coffee and tea
Lunch room
Cons
Lousy pay
Company does not promote from within
No growth opportunities; changing your title from Analyst I to Analyst II is not a promotion
Low employee morale
Little training
Un-friendly work environment
No clear cut processes, even when there are processes no one follows them because they don't want to and there are no consequences
Chaos because management does not manage and employees are free to do what they want
Wanton favoritism and brown nosing
Politically slick answers to hard business questions
Large percentage of your performance is based on customer feedback; valid or not.
They ask for you feedback like they care but nothing changes so their is a high frustration level.
Advice to Senior Management
Know what the managers are doing beneath you, don't just rely on them to tell you.
Walk around, talk to your employees. Listen, really listen to what they are telling you.
You have a process in mind but it can be carried out 100 different ways by 100 different managers. Case in point Exceptional Customer Experience, think it's working all across the company, think again. Another example is the dress code, each department has their own code. (isn't that illegal)?
