I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were phenomenal. Great discount on food for employees as well.

    Cons

Repairs needed were never fixed, constantly under managed (which was allowed by corporate management team) and just didn't feel very supported in any of our efforts to improve restaurant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your management teams who are there everyday. Have meetings and just establish a line of communication so we can move forward without taking two steps back.

I have been working at Sagebrush Steakhouse part-time

    Pros

At my location we have some very hard working individuals who really care about the work that they do and the service they provide. I have two wonderful assistant managers and a shift leader who works harder then I have seen any employee work in a long time.

    Cons

The GM has a sense of entitlement and lacks the proper skills to lead an effective work force. His attitude often rubs both the employees and consumers the wrong way. The constant hiring of more employees and cutting of hours has pushed some very useful members out of the door. His lack of giving credit or willingness to reward you for doing a good job has effected the work effort as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

value your employees treat them well and maybe offer a bonus or a gift card its not always about a raise though sometimes those are deserved.

I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good regular customer base, a few great coworkers, and a very few good managers to work for.

    Cons

Attracts lots of tourists who are usually poor tippers, a lot of management is inconsistent & not good at their jobs, ridiculous rules for staff in a restaurant

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a decent living wage in order to hire a competent staff. Give promotions based on quality of work, not quantity of time.

    I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse

    Pros

The co-workers are fantastic, great talent in this company.

    Cons

Poor communication, no one wants to make the necessary changes to better the company, they mislead the new hire managers and corporate personnel when onboarding, manegrs are severly overworked and underpaid, lack of support within the organization for resources the managers need to suceed, no direct deposit, benefits are terrible, no 401 k, no raises in the last 7 years, the HR team tries to find ways to dismiss managers who would have otehrwise been laid off just to keep from paying the little two week severence they max out at, the company has had 2 pay cuts in two years, closed several stores, filed bankruptcy, lays off the past 2 years, and demoted managers from hourly to salary- I could go on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

communication is key, honesty is key
