I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

First time managers who want to work below the pay scale are hired. Good place to begin management career. Then go out and see how it really is.

    Cons

It is as corporate as it gets. All numbers; bad month; gone.

    Advice to Management

Good experience; but do not put on resume.

  3. Helpful (1)

Worked with a great staff but had to deal with horrible upper management.

I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with were phenomenal. Great discount on food for employees as well.

    Cons

Repairs needed were never fixed, constantly under managed (which was allowed by corporate management team) and just didn't feel very supported in any of our efforts to improve restaurant.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your management teams who are there everyday. Have meetings and just establish a line of communication so we can move forward without taking two steps back.

I have been working at Sagebrush Steakhouse part-time

    Pros

At my location we have some very hard working individuals who really care about the work that they do and the service they provide. I have two wonderful assistant managers and a shift leader who works harder then I have seen any employee work in a long time.

    Cons

The GM has a sense of entitlement and lacks the proper skills to lead an effective work force. His attitude often rubs both the employees and consumers the wrong way. The constant hiring of more employees and cutting of hours has pushed some very useful members out of the door. His lack of giving credit or willingness to reward you for doing a good job has effected the work effort as well.

    Advice to Management

value your employees treat them well and maybe offer a bonus or a gift card its not always about a raise though sometimes those are deserved.

I worked at Sagebrush Steakhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good regular customer base, a few great coworkers, and a very few good managers to work for.

    Cons

Attracts lots of tourists who are usually poor tippers, a lot of management is inconsistent & not good at their jobs, ridiculous rules for staff in a restaurant

    Advice to Management

Pay a decent living wage in order to hire a competent staff. Give promotions based on quality of work, not quantity of time.
