    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Saint Agnes Hospital (Baltimore) full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Responsible for the daily operations of a 30-Bed Neuro Inpatient Unit. Develop and implement evidenced based clinical strategies to optimize clinical outcomes.

    Cons

Physicality of the position, unable to provide full implementation due to staffing obstacles.

    Advice to Management

Inspiring Management Team, thoughtful, progressive and openminded. Also get caught into putting out the "daily fires".

    Pros

Co workers are the best. They freely contributed to the skills I already had. Great teaching hospital.

    Cons

Too little hours for part time employees. Wanted to work more. I think they should pay for half the fees associated with certifications.

    Advice to Management

To retain valuable employees, provide more hours for prn and part time workers.

I worked at Saint Agnes Hospital (Baltimore) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Manger was flexible with time off and emergency situations.

    Cons

Overwhelmed manger with to many duties. Departmental Issues not addressed even when physical violence takes place. Poor work environment. Prejudicial attitudes and co-workers who push religion down your throat. Never a thank you for a job well done or for going above average. Work load not equal. Employees who hide and milk the time clock.

    Advice to Management

Resolve departmental issues in a timely fashion. Get rid of the dead weight in the vascular department.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Saint Agnes Hospital (Baltimore) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Multicultural place setting where Spirituality resides. Part of Ascension Health, a large company. Leadership very adaptable. Personal growth encouraged. Average compensation.

    Cons

Little expenditure on ongoing capital equipment improvements such as Diagnostic imaging equipment (particularly the CT scanner), computer equipment and having enough office chairs. Low educational reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

Consider setting aside more resources for ongoing capitol improvement so that it does not reach crisis point. More access to data on which to base evidence based practice would be appreciated.

I have been working at Saint Agnes Hospital (Baltimore) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nurses, techs really care about patients.

    Cons

Those with no direct patient care view patients as just numbers; long shifts, low pay, no recognition on contributions therefore no incentive to stay. People punch out and keep working because management piles on the work but wants you to complete it by end of shift; must skip lunches, work off the clock, hold your bladder in order to get it done.

    Advice to Management

They don't care enough to read this.
