    Pros

Coworkers are very respectful, a lot of good people work here, pay is good and benefits are decent.

    Cons

Too many meetings with no call to actions. The go det it attitude does not seem to exist in most meetings. Lacking in technology, change is extremely slow.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times, start getting innovative, try to compete with other hospitals besides the one town.

  5. Excellent team

I worked at Saint Francis Medical Center as an intern

    Pros

I worked on a trauma floor and in the ICU. The nurses were all super supportive of one another, and they mostly took their breaks, which was impressive.

    Cons

The resources may be limited sometimes, but the team makes it work.

    Advice to Management

They may have changed the charting system in the last year, but please work with IT to improve it, or perhaps get a new one altogether. I understand that some of the extra hoops to jump through are for patient safety and to remind you to do, say, or check things, but clicking 16 times (depending on the med) to chart a single medication administration is unreasonable.

    Pros

    1. Flexible hours 2. Prompt email responses 3. Staff is awesome and know what they are doing. 4. The hospital really cares about what you want to do with your future and gives insider tips on how to pursue your goal. 5. They love answering questions. Don't be afraid!

    Cons

    1. Training process is very long, but thats it.

    Advice to Management

Great management even though we were in a transition period where the manager had to leave and be replaced.

    Pros

Healthy Rewards Program is pretty good. Gainshare is also an advantage. These two things are a good draw. Health Club is also very good.

    Cons

Say they have transparency but really do not. Eat their young environment. Definitely biased towards the old-timers. There is inconsistent accountability which is frustrating if you like your work. People who do not perform have been around forever and management will not do anything about them.

    Advice to Management

CEO has made a lot of enemies in town which makes it hard to tell others where you work. Win/Lose Competitions do not work in a small town.

    Pros

Dedicated to their mission. Strives to be an employer of choice. Good benefits package. Promotion Opportunities for clinical staff. Flexible scheduling is an option.

    Cons

I think this is a drawback for healthcare in general, but even in non-clinical positions clinicians are given preference and more promotion opportunities.

    Advice to Management

I think it is critical to walk the talk in management. If you expect employees to act a certain way, managers must lead by example and act in that way as well.
