I worked at Saint-Gobain Containers full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

well established company and #2 largest glass container supplier in US

    Cons

Bad work/life balance. Salary in production must be in plants for all holiday shutdowns (if there is a shutdown) and they wont tell you if there is a shutdown until a week prior to it. Horrible if you want to see out of town family.
No accountability, alot of finger pointing, no team players, constant atmosphere of people degrading each other, many salary positions open which causes many managers to have to take on an overwhelming amount of responsibilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fill the open positions, improve work/life balance, look at the assets you have in house.

    Pros

    Nice people

Decent salary for non-college educated people

    Cons

Unpaid overtime is the rule not the exception for non-union salaried people.

Rules are made constantly but not enforced. Rules are broken to suit the needs of a few, at which time new rules are made.

Job responsibilities cross lines - sometimes not sure who is doing what.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to take care of the 3 sentences in the CONS, and learn how to give clear cut and consistent direction to ALL, not just a few.

Hire people when warranted instead of just dividing up theworkload
