    Pros

Pay is competitive, hours are flexible, management is competent., Magnet certification actually means something at this hospital after 12 years of maintaining it.

    Cons

Currently undergoing a reorganization after a joint venture agreement with Emory Health Care. Due to increase in unpaid care resources are dwindling with shifts often short RN's and support staff. However this is the case in many hospitals across the country.

I worked at Saint Joseph's Health System

    Pros

The people who work in their hospitals are genuine and care about their patients and coworkers. Faith and family are huge and quality is very important. I learned so much working there.

    Cons

It takes a long time for decisions to be made and often they are heavily influenced by internal politics. The culture is so strong that the stream of new, promising CEOs over the years have not been able to break that old school network effectively. This has more day to day impact on leaders than on staff level employees. There are too many executive level leaders who are always bumping into each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Streamline your top leadership dramatically, with an eye toward integrating functions across the system. You can do this while keeping your local flavor at each hospital. Give Directors and Execs true cross-system responsibility and recognize them for it. Seek external objective review of the top leadership and listen to the recommendations.

I worked at Saint Joseph's Health System

    Pros

Co-workers were very friendly and helpful. Department director's were great to work with. Continued education was encouraged. Given the opportunity to move around to different areas within our department and learn new skills.

    Cons

The cafeteria is small and kind of dark. There were not many opportunities to move up the ladder. Administrative jobs were few and far between. The pay did not cover all of the job duties that was asked. The PTO policy should be changed back to the way it used to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase salary of administrative assistants. Brighten up the cafeteria and try to expand it somehow. Make sure the cafeteria workers wear gloves on both hands if they are serving or any where near food.
