I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great working environment, excellent and thorough training experience, good discount, great colleagues and great customers
Cons – Salarie is very dependent on how good of a sales associate you are, so one must work a lot and build strong clientele to succeed.
Advice to Senior Management – Support your sales staff and help them learn the ins and outs of selling.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue full-time for less than a year
Pros – Working with amazing designer handbags such as Chanel, Dior, and Prada. Amazing employee discount even on brands that never go on sale. The opportunity to make a decent sales commission.
Cons – Working on the sales floor is extremely competitive. Be careful of other employees who have reputation of stealing others sales. If working as a full time employee be aware that if a customer returns an item that counts against your sales goals. Since the pay is based on the draw system you either make your hourly or you make your commission, whichever is higher. But in order to make commission you must be above your sales goals weekly to stay out of the hole.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat everyone equally. Management tends to side with whomever has the highest sales.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

I have been working at Saks Fifth Avenue
Pros – great discount for yourself and family, opportunity to make as much as you want with the right sales attitude, good benefits
Cons – economy has caused luxury retailers to lose a lot of business, commissions are low right now, minimal opportunity for advancement
Advice to Senior Management – Give employees an opportunity to express ideas and thoughts in order to make them feel as if they are part of a team
