    Pros

I really enjoy working at the Salk Institute. I took this job out of college to boost my skills and experience and I could not be happier. Some of the notable pros are an easy schedule, where I can manage my own hours as long as the work gets done (this will probably vary by lab), working with very talented and international people. The location right on the beach doesn't hurt either. Overall, it has been a very positive and fun experience.

    Cons

Perhaps the biggest con is salary. Since salaries are linked to grants and funding, they can get a bit low for lab techs, but that's pretty much the norm for most labs. A second con is repetitive work as sometimes you can be doing the same things over and over.

    Pros

    Beatiful location and friendly employees

    Cons

Terrible benefits and 'higher ups' are more about the administrative staff when they should be focused on the scientific staff.
