    Pros

Working at Sally's helped me to get more product knowledge and learn how to get in the habit of reading fine print on items. I met many customers and always put them first. I loved my job directing customers in the area they desired. I had a passion of learning how to dye hair, do nails, and style.

    Cons

There was nothing negative about Sally's when I started working, however as time went on and I got to know the employees I saw many flaws in the company. Unprofessionalism took place in many areas and not just from management but from the staff also. There was only one girl I enjoyed working with, she had lots of product knowledge and was kind to every customer. Its employees like that that make you want to continue shopping at Sally's .

    Advice to Management

When you have good employees don't be rude to them and take them for granted. Acknowledge them and compliment them, sometimes it is necessary to discipline your employees but always keep it professional and that's what I wish could have happened at Sally's . I know I would still be employed if that were the case.

    Pros

I loved the discount, and the company had great perks. They have a really good incentives program.

    Cons

The wage isn't great. It starts out at minimum wage (if you aren't licensed) and barely goes up if you get a good review from your manager. You also don't have another opportunity for a raise (after your initial 6 month review) for another year, and every year following.

    Advice to Management

Raise the wage. You'll get better quality workers and people will be more concerned about the quality of care they give to customers.

    Pros

Benefits for part and full time, paid vacation after one year. They gave good employee discount. Free samples each month. Can win free item on scratch offs if your home store makes all criteria for the month.

    Cons

Low pay. When average wage goes up the is no compensation for in pay if you are making more then minim wage.

    Pros

Discount on merchandise (that's really it)

    Cons

Low hourly wage, impossible to move up, management discriminates, management falsifies reports and reviews, management is taught to profile their customers and employees, unclear rules for basic sales associates, management makes up rules and procedures on their own, management promotes the worst people for upper management positions based on loyalty to upper managers and the likelihood they will betray the confidences of the sales staff, tech support never knows what they're doing (this really is a horrible company to work for)

    Advice to Management

restructure management, fire everyone and start over

    Pros

Discount on beauty products. Recently, we have been allowed to wear jeans! This is such a great idea. You can really see small changes that are really changing the culture. There is an onsite cafeteria so you never have to leave the office.

    Cons

With new leadership comes new people to the company and rapid growth. Opportunities are given to new external candidates instead of trying to grow current employees. The worst thing of all is the commute from Dallas to Denton.

    Advice to Management

Spend more times building a base of workers instead of hiring more directors. Recently hired employees, have better benefits and perks than employees who have been with the company for years.

    Pros

Fun work environment, never boring because people are generally always in and out. On slow work days it can get a little boring but that's anywhere. Only 4 other employees so it's easy to get to know everyone without the hassle of having to meet someone new everytime you go into work. Decent pay for a student. Great discounts as well as other things.

    Cons

Standing constantly, having to deal with rude customers hear and there.
