I have been working at Salon PS (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to work with seniors, you have a built-in clientele, hours worked are extremely desirable (no evenings and usually no weekends), and there is room for growth within the company.

    Cons

Work can sometimes be more physically and emotionally demanding than that in a commercial salon environment.

    Recommends

I have been working at Salon PS part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Positive attitudes are a welcome part of the work day. Everyone does their best to be helpful with a smile.

    Cons

Work-life balance is great, but not so for salary. No benefits package offered..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a great job, here are a couple of suggestions to make it even better:
Raise your prices and have all salons charging the same prices. The challenges that come with working in a retirement community require lots of compassion and extra physical effort on the part of stylists and nail technicians. They deserve to be paid more for that extra effort.
Improve communications. Important information often gets missed or lost.

I have been working at Salon PS part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

profitable to upper management, fast growing room for growth

    Cons

not enough focus on stylist support, needs to service clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great concept....A fast growing company needs to focus on employee internalization of salon operations, detail of client stylist communication with regards to client needs.
