    Pros

Daily interaction with people. Meeting new people, having good team effort from co-workers, solving everyday problems or questions from customers.

    Cons

    Pros

Lots of promotion opportunities available if you are willing to put in the work Friendly co-workers Very competitive starting wages and above average starting salaries for managers

    Cons

Strict payroll budgets limit hours available to give to associates which negatively affect morale Numerous sales goals in each department are often difficult to meet, especially in smaller volume clubs

    Advice to Management

Push back more to try to get better hours for the club

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time

    Pros

A place of opportunity. You can grow and and go places if so desired.

    Cons

Too many uninformed associates. Communication is lacking among workers on most level. Blend of family and ownership of club is missing.

    Advice to Management

More training for associates. Every worker needs to always be informed. A family setting needs to be developed. It is a family developed store for business owners and bulk shoppers.

    Pros

Co-workers are reliable, they become your second family and contribute greatly to the work experience. Every 9 months or so there is a formal review of you based on work ethic, customer service, cooperation with management and co-workers. This allows for advancement in your current position while providing opportunities to transition to an alternate position. The review incorporates constructional criticism that allows you to become a better employee and worker. The two best traits to strive for are exceeds expectations and role model in the review.

    Cons

The majority of the time management does not concern themselves with the full needs that each individual department requires in order to enhance the quality of work for the employees and the quality of customer service. Their focus is primarily on profits and bending to the customers will, which often at times conflicts with and contradict the employees duties.

I have been working at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The HR is very nice.

    Cons

-The managment is very un realistic on expectations. "Hey we need two pallets of cupcakes done by tomorrow" but don'thave enough employees... training isn't even there, they show u once and expect you to then prepare two dozen cakes. If you don't fit into there "group or ethnicity, you are ignored and treated like a ghost" pay is to be desired. Hours are promised 35 but u end up with 20... your days are odd on and off on and off.. etc. High school drama.

    Advice to Management

Don't overwhelm your employees, give them some time to adjust.

I worked at Sam's Club part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked with some great people who took care of the employees most of the time. They would feed us a lot and everyone, other than a few select managers, was like a family.

    Cons

All they cared about were getting the numbers we needed. If you didn't get what they wanted from you, you were scum to them.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with the respect they deserve. Care more about them than making money because they are what makes you money.
