I have been working at Samsung Electro-Mechanics full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Only good thing is the medical benefits.

    Cons

Very unprofessional management with very poor English.
There's no strong HR with experience. Korean dispatcher CFO and each department's managers do whatever they want and aren't aware of US labor laws.
All good opportunities goes to Korean expartriates, local US employees don't get any good chances, recognition, or rewards.
The office in Irvine is 100% Korean. There's no diversity.

I have been working at Samsung Electro-Mechanics

    Pros

Very fancy office space in a nice location. Decent amenity in terms of coffee, drinks, snacks and instant noodles. Special gifts on holiday occasions.
    - Insurance package is decent
    - Highly secure working environment: better than a CIA office (multiple finger print scanned entries and lots of security cameras everywhere)
    - Very expensive overall office appearance: look is very important

    Cons

Whatever bad things you heard about this company are ALL TRUE then SOME!

Other than concurring other reviewers' comments and here are some more insights:
    - It is like a combination of high-school & zoo. Complete lack of professionalism from top to bottom
    - Management doesn't do what they say: open working environment means that they can spy on everyone more easily and keep more secrets from everyone else; innovation means copy others' designs/ideas;
    - No career advancement unless you are an obedient manager's pet following every order blindly without questioning
    - Can't believe anything you hear from the management
    - Constant threats from the management if you are on working VISA
    - Management drives away talented, hard-working and capable personnel, keep deceiful, incompetent and manipulative suck-ups
    - Make up any excuses to can you
    - Complete lack of technical competence for an engineering firm

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why aren't there any innovative and different ideas in the company? Because you only keep and promote people who keep telling you what you want to hear.

I have been working at Samsung Electro-Mechanics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I would say that your feeling and satisfying will depend on a team you will work in.
Generally it's a good company which offers reasonable salary, appartments and it is changing corporate culture.
Good (very!) country to live, withgood climate and facilities.
New friends from Korea and India.

    Cons

    Not all managers are adequate.
You have to spend 2 hours a day to learn Korean. Even if you live here more than 5 years, it is hard to grow in the company w/o language, so no chance to be a true manager. After 5 years you will be promoted to Manager, but you will manage nothing.
No bonuses and no compensation for overtime working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees should work smart, but not hard. I see that my colleagues spend almost whole life in the office and I guess they are not happy.
Foreign emploees do not get bonuses, and it is very-very bad.
No opportunities to grow for foreign emploees.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Samsung Electro-Mechanics

    Pros

Insurance package is somewhat above average when comparing to other companies.

    Cons

Management in Samsung Electro-mechanics is a joke. It's a buddy-buddy system based company. If you are a good friend with the higher management then you will be safe.

I have been working at Samsung Electro-Mechanics

    Pros

Nice health insurance with coverage of all family members.
Heartwarming gifts from the management for Korean conventional memorial holidays.

    Cons

    No overtime payment.
Only 10 days of on-pay offs.
    No stock options.
9 hours working time per day. Need to clock-in and out without flexibility.
