Cons
no recognition for job well done; no promotions; no feedback on performance or where organization is going;
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your people; recognize your people; reward your people
Pros
Good payer, perks, gifts, events, onsites, varied work oppurtunities.
Cons
Appraisals are not guaranteed to be fairest although it varies with ability/attitude of managers.
Work pressure sometimes. Time strict. No work from home.
Advice to Senior Management
Please appraise people better.
Pros
Company is lean, so you are expected to wear many different hats. Great learning experience, but the work hour expectations are not sustainable. Samsung is not a 9 - 5 job.
Cons
Unless you put Samsung as your top priority over your family and friends, advancement will be difficult. Although based US, Samsung is very deeply rooted in Korean cultural norms....be prepared.
Pros
Growing fast. Lots of exciting products
Cons
Company culture is very centered in Korea.
Pros
good benefits, bonus and good people.
Cons
needs to listen employees more.
Pros
Good benefit (medical insurance, etc). Fast moving (too much fast). Not adhere to a certain technology. Free to think of new business.
Cons
There is not much empowerment to subsidiaries outside Korea. The company has high authoritative atmosphere. They differentiate people based on their location unofficially.
Advice to Senior Management
make a culture that everyone respects everyone, regardless of their location, position, sex. Educate you manager (especially executives) not to shout.
Pros
Competitive salary, good benefits, makes some attempt at change
Cons
Poor management, no control for subsidiaries, authoritative structure, poor work balance, no respect for employees.
Pros
The benefits and salary are really good as compared with other competitors. The HR seem do a very good job. The Samsung products are in general pretty good.
Cons
Obedience to some unreasonable requests is the only way to survive here. Your suggestions do not get any response most of time. The top managers have some attitude of self pride.
Advice to Senior Management
The top mangers should be more humble to listen to others. Dignity is the most serious stumbling block for f the managers especially for the Korea managers who in general do not know how to manage the temper.
Pros
The communication is the best. Everyone is abreast of all situations department and company wise.
Cons
The culture barrier is a heck of an obstacle course.
Advice to Senior Management
An integrated upper echelon may usher in different market perspectives.
