    Pros

Fast Moving. Management gives a wide variety of tasks, ensuring maximum exposure to a variety of job scopes. Intimate level of communications between management and staff. Boss treats every staff like family,e.g. CEO sends flowers on your birthday and writes a card by hand.

    Cons

Boss can get emotional because he treats each staff like family. Too much work shared among too few people.

    Pros

    - Great name to have on your CV
    - Decent benefits package

    Cons

    - Awful hierarchical work culture. Employees are expected to carry out orders quickly and without questioning them. Discussing ideas, taking time to make decisions and discovering innovative solutions are actively discouraged.

    - Preferential treatment of Korean employees. Western colleagues are treated like potential corporate spies, refused access to many essential systems and databases and spend most of their time justifying their purpose as a paid employee to managers in Seoul. Korean colleagues in Seoul have a far more favourable bonus system and the 'expats' have private school fees for their kids paid for and are treated with kid gloves by HR.

    - Shocking IT infrastructure. The 'in-house' software and systems are laughable. Much of it is improperly translated (despite English being proudly proclaimed as the company language) with both over zealous security restrictions and multiple security loopholes. The documentation of system architecture is non-existant.

    - Pointless reporting. Most staff spend upwards of 40% of their time producing largely useless reports and massaging figures where necessary. Management's solution to most problems was simply "make a new report for this". Simply spreadsheets full of numbers at people will not solve many of the complex structural difficulties facing this company.

    Advice to Management

    - Develop a more successful business culture. In theory, this company has the opportunity to cherry pick the best elements of Asian and Western business cultures and combine them. In reality, the former dominates. There is little point sending Western employees on Korean culture training if Korean colleagues are unable/unwilling to learn about Western business culture.

    - Listen to your employees. Accept that some more junior employees are more knowledgable about specific areas of the business than senior managers who have larger business areas to consider. Allow staff to constructively challenge management and have an input into corporate strategy.

    Cons

Lots of pressure, very korean style & too much control by HQ guys, lots of political issue, lots of adhoc task & report (daily, weekly, monthly), stick with beautiful numbers, can't make an appointment with anyone after work

    Pros

The technology that I work on directly impacts millions of people. Good exposure in related technologies. Start-up like work environment, fast and agile.

    Cons

Engineering is strongly driven by market and product requirement. Research is sometimes sometimes hampered due to lack of time.

    Pros

Large company with great opportunities for learning.

    Cons

Unfair and outdated employee performance assessment.
As a local subsidiary outside the company HQ, we had a very small participation on the development of the company global and main products.
Local management did not notice serious relationship problems among staff members, and any action was taken against it.
Salary was admittedly low compared to the local job market.
