I worked at Samsung Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Above market rate compensation and benefits. Large human network. Great opportunity to learn new things.

    Cons

Heavy bureaucracy and politics. Human relationship is very hierarchical. Difficult to engage in technical debate/conversation with the seniors especially the executives. Majority of executives are pompous and arrogant for no reason as they rarely make useful decision. Many fragmented organizations doing redundant stuff. Creative R&D is not encouraged unlike the way the company portray itself. Seems fast-paced, but ironically falls behind the competitors. Nagging and control freak human resource department.

    Advice to Management

Cut lame executives. Down size to avoid redundant R&D operations. Drop the fast-follower DNA. Repect the voice from the employees. Restructure HR to make it a pure support group.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

If you are looking for working at cutting edge technology, this can be a good place to work. Many smart people can help you if you're junior level.

    Cons

Too much overtime work. Sometimes overtimes are done just for show up. Work and life balance is limited. It's a traditional Korean type of company (There was some cultural shock.)

    Advice to Management

Most of time seniors are right, but sometimes you should listen to younger people's voice
