    Pros

growing and strong work life balance growing startup mentality is catching but still needs work finally signs of breaking away from HQ threads as critical mass of local company is attained

    Cons

    1. very silo oriented thinking and lack of collaboration incentives means similar ideas get built in different ways in silos are shoe-horned into a narrow existing product focus. 2. need more employee empowerment 3. needs stronger executives with silicon valley mentality and courage

    Advice to Management

Increase employee empowerment on decision making and better incubate collaboration opportunities across Samsung divisional silos to enable reduced R&D expense and avoid duplicated technology development and create a more enabled service opportunities rather than an enabler built for only 1 divisional use case. Need more outside the box business wizards to complement the advanced technology pump.

    Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Many talented engineers.

    Cons

No management, no planning, daily change in direction. Requests from HQ are the utmost urgency/importance. Managers do not know what engineers are working on. Managers assign irrelevant and meaningless tasks to engineers. Managers assign wrong tasks to wrong engineers. Difficult to communicate with other teams. Frequent request to compare different technologies that are not really in the same domain. Decisions are made based on politics. Smart engineers are not utilized to their capacity.

    Advice to Management

Don't try running the place like a Korean company. Let engineers do the jobs they are hired to do.

    Cons

    - This place no longer do any research - Management constantly drag engineers into nasty political fight resulting in more travel to Korea - Project ownership constantly stolen by Korea. - Numerous meaningless tasks to prove ourselves against other groups in the company or cover up other team's issues I would not recommend this place

    Advice to Management

    learn to do your job

    Pros

Decent benefits (401k, health coverage) Good products hardware wise Flexibility Fast follower

    Cons

    - Running Korean business culture in USA - Very short term goals, no long term vision - Always re-organizing, goes through very short expand/collapse cycles - No independence, run by dispatcher from Korea - Don't trust employees

    Advice to Management

    - Educate yourselves to local cultures - Take on innovative projects, not constantly follow others - Treat employees with respect - Need management training (not Korean) to be a global company

    Pros

Hard to make good partnership with your own people because everyone is afraid.

    Cons

It will be the worst time of your both career and life. You learn nothing, but drain everything of yourself.

    Advice to Management

discrimination/ Racism/ Neglect Worst of all, it's all about Lies!!!! What's sad about this company is that everything does not have to be that way and treat people that way because the company has SO,,SO much potentials and the some of the employees are super smart. Samsung hires those who are on the top of their game with top dollar, but as soon as they get the talents, the talents start loosing their creativity because the management does not ask of your creativity, but to fix and fit. Very Sad experience.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Review of KPIs that may be good for one segment but not good for company's eco system
