I have been working at San Diego Center for Children full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Schedules are easy to modify, change or pick up extra hours. Most of the place has a good structure and rules in place that most people follow. Workload is very balanced and expectations are clear. Good continuing training for new and old staff. Great open door policy.

    Cons

Constantly changing staff, high turnover. The pay is not bad for entry level, but it doesn't seem to get much better for higher levels because their working hours are sooo long.

I worked at San Diego Center for Children full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Though pay is low, they manage to keep employee responsibility for health coverage very reasonable. Also, helping the kids grow and succeed is very rewarding.

    Cons

They have such a high turn over rate that they view employees as completely dispensable. Upper management acknowledges the pay is poor, but feels if anyone has a problem with making $1-2 an hour less than average that they are in effect, being petty. I have known employees who are now working for other facilities making more than $5 an hour more than they did at SDCC, for essentially the same position. Additionally, without a master's degree or Doctorate, there is no future there

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook

I worked at San Diego Center for Children

    Pros

Kids and families, most equal level employees are very kind.

    Cons

Rude unprofessional and selfish management, unrealistic and unclear expectations, working a job for two people and getting paid for one, completely unprofessional, let people get away with seriously fraudulent activity with an unpaid vacation!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make some changes or continue to receive high turn over rates and unhappy employees.
