I have been working at SanDisk full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good work culture
You can quickly grow if you can work hard
Very good exposure to latest technology
A lot of internal politics have been reduced considerably
Great CEO and executive team - Great values
    Great direct managers

    Cons

Many changes and each change takes a lot of time to settle down. Employees would miss direction in this period

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep changes to minimum

    Good company

    I worked at SanDisk

    Pros

When I was there, the company was growing and clearly there was foresight into the markets and thus the direction the company was going to lead in.

    Cons

Not necessarily a bad thing, but I needed to know some information about network design in order to architect things properly for my project and I was denied access to the information for "security reasons." It took some time going through the proper channels, but eventually was able to get enough of a view to complete my project. From a managerial point of view the policy was a good policy, but it cost a lot of time and money when it was a legitimate request.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep leading in the industry and value the team you have!

I worked at SanDisk full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent infrastructure, salary and decent brand value on resume.

    Cons

This is about Procurement Team - Too much micro management, inflexible and extremely bureaucratic. The management will tell you what meetings are mandatory, where to sit in the meeting room (remote joining not allowed), demand (not request) that you be available during your off office hours, how, when and what to write in emails, how to perform your work (it does not matter if you know already, do it the way they want) and requires a lot of unnecessary, dumb and time consuming tasks/reports. This team probably has the company's highest attrition rate and employee satisfaction is least of the priorities. A lot of negative motivation. No career path or growth. Its good to switch off your brain and just follow instructions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace the existing procurement management with a person with basic personnel management skills. Make a sincere effort to improve.

I have been working at SanDisk full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Ok, Pay, great work environment, good campus

    Cons

SanDisk IT is based on one person's view, who is an "AS" CIO Ravi Naik, he has his stinking Indian team, no one gets good hike, stocks or promotions. He robs other's money by allocating all the options to himself and his close friends. You have to suck up to him to get good rating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

High time to look in to IT Dept, the current CIO has build his empire and is very mean to other's who are not in his circle. There are so many hardworking employees who deserve much better reviews than the one's who are close to CIO.

    Pros

    Cons

Minimal technical challenges in most teams
    Politics in mid management level
Most work done by less 10-15% of the teams (rest are having fun)

    I worked at SanDisk

    Pros

The company is slightly old-school in its thinking compared to other companies in the Bay Area. But, it is still good for you if you want to work in semiconductor space. You can get the chance to work closely with senior management. There are not many hierarchies.
Work life balance is good for the most part. You are not expected to be working on the weekend unless something urgent happens.

    Cons

Great company to learn about operations and engineering. From a longer term perspective, semiconductor memory business is going to get commoditized. So the company as a whole is dependent on memory prices.

I have been working at SanDisk full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people, the culture, the people. Brilliant minds and unlike other larger companies, you don't get lost in the crowd...executive visibility into what you do happens all the time. Pushed to be greater than before and given a great deal of autonomy to challenge the status quo. No two days are ever the same which is good, as well as the employee activities; both on-site and off-site events help ensure we work hard & play hard.

    Cons

Can sometimes run lean but it challenges employees to try things outside of their normal scope of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep caring about employees and showing that vested interest in the overall well-being of the work force...really shows and makes a difference :)
