Not a good place to work

I have been working at SanDisk

    Pros

wrok culture is relaxed. Benefits ok.

    Cons

Too many re-orgs. The organization chart doesnt make any sense. Managers report to other managers. The company doesnt have any specific vision about what it wants to do. Too many projects are started and then scrapped off and the engineers are laid off if the project is cancelled and nobody even touches marketing and sales even if they give a wwrong forecast about the product capability leading to the cancellation of the project. Most of the work is being moved out of the US location to locations abroad.

I worked at SanDisk full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good compensation and annual bonus plan. Espp is good at 15 percent. The technology will be ever changing and play a part in data centers

    Cons

Things are always delayed and changing. Trust in leadership is fading. Everything is run on spreadsheets and the reporting is ancient and not reliable. Transparency is very poor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people you hire. More management and executives ask questions to get the answers they want, not the truth.

I have been working at SanDisk full-time

    Pros

When one is worried about being overly scrutinized for their decisions and actions the natural strategy is to "keep your head down" and get the work done per the established process. This is the balance that is required to make it through the weekly cycle.

    Cons

if you are into taking public transit to work look elsewhere because HQ is in a public transit dead zone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to work on improving the caustic environment that currently exists so that people are happier to come to work and fell that they are appreciated.

    Cons

    Cons

    Pros

There are no good reasons to work there. The stock is doing fine, but the culture is atrocious, just a bunch of loudmouth yes men
    Mid level management was ok.

    Cons

    Too many to name
you're watched like a hawk, for no apparent reason either. Visible antagonism towards random employees.
Old school company with old school management methodologies.
Everyone was LOUD and in each others personal business.
    Everyone was in constant battle,
    Not enough processes set.
High level management was always suspicious of their employees.
Only your direct level peers offer any help or support.

I worked at SanDisk full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Upward momentum of the NAND flash industry and Sandisk is a big integral part of it..
    Good overall and stock compensation

    Cons

Non existent culture. Suck up to long timers to get promoted. No value for title. Extremely top heavy - Almost everyone is a "Director" or above.
Low level cronies of certain Directors have no knowledge whatsoever of the products they manage, have 5+ employees leaving within a short span and still get promoted.
if you come from a good company or went to great schools and have had a good career, joining SanDisk is kissing your career goodbye.
Review and rating is a joke

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Take manager feedback seriously. Fire low performing managers if they don't make a certain cut and dont promote them sending the wrong message.
