I worked at Sanmina full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Short commute; benefits kick in quickly; food in cafe ok; learn a lot about products and how they are made from a tech standpoint

    Cons

Training was horrible; people are cliquish; human resources only cared about managements standpoints, cared nothing about the employees and the co-workers all had bad dispositions because they all felt overworked and underpaid; all co-workers were very sad everyday and only stayed at the company because of lack of jobs

    Advice to Management

Be fair; train new employees properly; provide a mentor ship program for new employees; speak in the morning, it goes a long way....

  2. Very fast-paced environment, good place to start out, chaotic but opportunistic learning environment.

    I worked at Sanmina full-time

    Pros

Lots of things to do, great opportunities to learn. Advancement opportunities are solid. Good people to work with in many cases.

    Cons

Notoriously poor pay for entry to mid-career employees. High turnover and frequent rolling layoffs.

    Pros

    Learned alot, fast paced environment.

    Cons

No raises - ever. Management knee jerk reactions, if revenue is down for the quarter there will be layoffs. Do more with less attitude

    Advice to Management

Instead of worrying about your quarterly bonuses, at least give the employees a cost of living raise. 10 years with out a raise is ridiculous. You are lucky that you have dedicated employees you need them more than they need you.

I have been working at Sanmina full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Thought it was a good place to advance. Started out positive and it seemed a good place to go to work and be appreciated

    Cons

They don't care about you and do not give you the support you need to do your your job. Constant political moves to better a positions. Bad scenario. No future there. No hope.

    Advice to Management

Clean house top to bottom and maybe you might survive. You represent less than 1% of this huge corporations annual revenue. Evolve!

    I worked at Sanmina full-time

    Pros

    Short commute to the location.

    Cons

Not enough room here nor do I have enough time to list the multitude of negatives. This is without a doubt the worst place in the world to "work".

I have been working at Sanmina full-time

    Pros

I can't say anything nice about this place. The turnover is insane. I could say at least it has air conditioning sometimes when someone hasn't adjusted it to 78!

    Cons

Under pays all employees except upper management, excessive workload and constant micromanaging make it difficult even for the most loyal employee to stay around.

    Advice to Management

Streamline some processes. Recognize the knowledgable and capable employees. Give them their responsibilities and quit hovering and loading us up with endless meaningless paperwork.

I have been working at Sanmina full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work not terribly unpleasant most of the time (dependent on department), good training ground for subsequent jobs.

    Cons

Two times working for Sanmina, two times laid off. More ups and downs than a monster roller coaster. Mandatory time off during the recession was harder on hourly than it was lower management (as a percent pay cut).

    Advice to Management

Many jobs begin only as temp positions. That's bush league. Seems like the company may be run with too much concern for the stock price and where it's going.
