Big company, and moves like one.

    IS Consultant (Current Employee)

    ProsExcellent benefits, good culture.
    Generally treat employees well.
    Fair compensation.

    ConsInexperienced / untrained middle managers.
Company grows by aquisition and are not good at integrating aquired companies.
Convoluted internal processes make even simple tasks slow and difficult.
Contracts out many positions. Contractors are treated like second class citizens even though they are doing critical work and often outperfoming employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementStrengthen middle management. Do some house keeping. There is a lot of dead wood.
Strive to simplify and streamline internal processes and procedures.

Primary care sales through promotion to senior hospital sales

Hospital Representative (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsLots of sales reps so you can move around for more experience or if you get bored.

ConsIf you are a white dude, good luck. Openly promoting women and minorities and even if the skills are lacking those groups are seeing upward mobility. I is weakening some areas and we see this in management that can't make decisions. For instance, regional directors won't hire managers until they do interim management without the pay. White males in management development have spent more than 7 years in their development program without landing positions. Sales data reporting sucks and all bonuses will be capped as recent Zaltrap bonuses were cut in half because the company refused to pay what the reps had earned after blowing out sales numbers.

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote people that can think for themselves and have skills and not for having a uterus or a certain ethnicity about them.
