    Interesting Place

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Bridgewater, NJ

ProsWork life balance is pretty good
    Benefits were great

ConsUpper management not really in touch with what the people in the field need on daily basis.
People promoted more on who they know then what they know

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to field and offer a clear vision on where the company is going

Not good, very little support from upper management

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

Prosgood benefits and vacation time off, generous with 401k and medical benefits, company care and other benefits in line with pharma industry

Consmanagement is not aware of the market place and products that sanofi-aventis is putting out in the market, very little support from upper management.

Advice to Senior Managementsenior management is clueless to what is going on in the market both nationally and at the street level, the ship is sinking and management isn't even concerned

Used to be a nice place to work, not anymore

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsSalary/benefits are competitive in the industry. Company provides a good tuition reimbursment program and time off benefits and flexible work schedule was a nice plus.

ConsSanofi used to be a nice place to work. The company was never the highest paying pharma co., but focused on providing a strong benefits package and backed it up with a culture that was employee centric-people were treated like individuals, not interchangable parts. That has changed since 2009 and "Transformation" began. Senior leadership has no idea what direction they are going in. If they do, they are incapable or unwilling to provide that message to its employees. The company has dismantled many of the pros that encouraged people to stay despite the lower salaries. Company loyalty towards employees is not longer considered an important aspect of the culture, yet the company still wants unquestioned loyalty from its employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementA fully vetted long term plan should be developed and communicated to employees. It appears that decisions are made to save money but not for the long term development of competitive advantage within the industry.

Sanofi was a good learning experience overall, but the company morale has been lacking since 2006.

    Pharmaceutical Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Charlotte, NC

ProsSanofi had incredible benefits and good training.

ConsThe company morale has been terrible since 2006. Many reps are underutilized and feel non- productive since there are still so many reps in each area.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt is great they are doing voluntary severances now, as there are many disgruntled workers and they looking for a way out. Reps should feel more accountability in their territories--there are still way too many reps in each territory, even the diabetes division. Less reps would mean more productivity and more accountability.

    Swirling down the drain

    Systems Support (Current Employee)
    Bridgewater, NJ

ProsBetter Benefits, Nice Vacation, Flex Days

ConsNo Leadership, Low Morale, No Recognition, Low Raises and Bonuses, Not Work from home friendly, Terrible Cafeteria, No Guidance

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to put the brakes on reorganizing and take a good look at your workforce.

Waiting for the guilliotine to fall

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Bridgewater, NJ

    ProsGreat benefits
    Modern environment
    Central location

ConsManagement does not seem to know what they are doing day to day as well as overall

Top Management making too many changes at the same time without asking for examples or working through real pilot periods where statistics and analysis govern keeping or dumping that strategy

Mergers occur without any reassurance for growth

Top producers are being lost to other competing companies while the mediocre performers are kept simply because they hold a doctorate degree

Quality is suffering due to the numerous and sudden changes in policy and procedure -as soon as the latest policy is adapted another new one is already being rolled out

If direct management does know what is going on they do not tell staff or wait until the change is already rolled out which causes mistrust and lack of respect

Advice to Senior ManagementInsist on true Pilot Periods before committing to a vendor prescribed plan...don't pay in full until you know the plan works

Listen to the leaders and top producers feedback during pilot periods

Insist on quality performance and give employees and contractors the tools to perform their job perfectly and consistently.

Communicate changes quickly and personally with teams and other management

Never know who is being laid off next, or when, & very little promotion potential - morale is terrible.

    Manager (Current Employee)
    Bridgewater, NJ

ProsThe benefits package is very good, especially the 401K match and vacation days. The cafeteria is also good. That’s about it.

ConsMorale is very low and pressure is high. So many people have been let go that the remaining employees are doing the work of three. Neither promotions nor firings seem to be based on talent, knowledge, or accomplishments. HR changes its review process and approach every year.

Not a place I'd recommend for high level networking professionals (task master shop)

Senior Network Engineering Manager (Former Employee)
    Bridgewater, NJ

ProsBenefits are better than average companies
Located in a good area close to highways
There's a 20 word minimum but I'm unable to list anything else so they can count these words.

ConsFrench based company with little say in architecture and design
High level engineers ordering circuits and performing low level tasks
Management wants task master engineers to deploy architecture and design based on French direction.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers should manage and not attempt to be architects since they lack the expertise and background knowledge. Lack of fundamental design concepts deployed by senior management.
