I have been working at Sanofi-Aventis

    Pros

Good products. Physicians feel they are good

    Cons

Very low salary compared to industry

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at salaries and adjust. Hiring an outside person with a higher salary than current employee is not fair

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, company car, good commissions. Everyone I worked with in the local territory was great and helped one another. Made many good friends for life.

    Cons

After the regulations were put in place the company and managers began to micro manage everything. Use to be here is your quota and your territory. Go do your job. Ten it became here are the doctors in your territory you must see this one x amount of times per month. Some of these doctors didn't even use the type of pharmaceuticals we sold so there was no benefit to do that. If you didn't you got less than expected on your year end review. Even if you were well above quota.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are going to give a quota does it really matter how your sales people attain it, stop making them check the boxes for reasons that don't grow business. We know what we are doing!

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Generally the people in Sanofi are good to work with. There are a few exceptions and unfortunately they are in higher positions and cause inconvenience to others.
Health insurance is of high quality.
End of service payments are good.

    Cons

There management in Sanofi is highly driven by internal politics rather than business interest and productivity.
Salaries could be improved significantly to compete with other large companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that promotions are based on the more qualified people rather than those who play the politics without productivity.

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for advancement were excellent. The people who worked for s-a were outstanding. You were able to to develop and execute your own tailored business plan w/in the hospital and specialty teams. Training & development was always very good. Overall, a great place to have a career.

    Cons

Prior to leaving the company, it felt like the company was moving towards a "top-down" approach where strategies were being forced onto the sales force across the country; there was less flexibility to adapt strategies to meet the needs of your local market.
