    Pros

    Salary, benefits and work/life balance

    Cons

Big company bureaucracy and like any large company with stockholders to answer to, will let layoff their employees to keep the stock price up.

    Advice to Management

Take the time (several years) to invest in research and development in order to bring long term profit and growth.

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Culture varied on region, overall, my experience was great. Good benefits, very supportive company. Had some amazing managers that helped me grow in my career.

    Cons

Layoffs (like any pharma company, right?) Heavy administrative burdens at times (but that also varied based on the manager)

  7. Good overall company to work for until merge with another company

    I worked at Sanofi-Aventis

    Pros

Compensations were good as long as you were on a team with people willing to pull their weight in the field.

    Cons

Layoffs left good salesmen without a job and not so good ones retaining their positions.

    Pros

Good benefits. Internal self driven training available for development. Career development if you have the stomach for office politics...unless you are a lab rat (technical skills are not as valued as management skills)

    Cons

Poor leadership. Poor communication with employees. No loyalty to employees. Employees were expected to "Get it done" without proper resources or support. Expected to work weekends, overtime, and holidays while management has three day weekends.

    Advice to Management

The small biotech I worked for was acquired by Sanofi. At first there was little change and then the large corporate attitude took over. Management meetings were always catered while lab employees are fighting over how much of the 2% salary increase we could manage. If management wants the respect of the employees then they need to be seen as the hardest workers not the best politicians.

    Pros

Salary, company car. The company values apply to some employees but not all. Training methodology changes with the wind. The training could be helpful for a different type of sales for employees who leave or get axed from the company.

    Cons

Man culture for sure. Unrealistic role playing till you want to throw-up. Some very lousy managers who only respect those reps that follow their lead no matter how bad the mangers sales techniques maybe.

    Advice to Management

Let the reps do their job, cut down on the role-play phony scenarios, the ride alongs with experienced reps that are bring home the bacon for you...LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!!!!!

    Pros

Its a laid back job you don't have management riding you all day long which makes it easier to perform your job. I love the hours being its day shift

    Cons

you must keep fast paste to keep up with the line I love the challenge

    Advice to Management

I think companies will be improving if they give hard working temps an chance to be permanent

    Pros

I worked for sanofi for 20+ years during many years of transitions, mergers and acquisitions. They always treated us well and provided numerous opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

After working there for 20+ years, I was laid off due to an economic downturn. I thought my 20+ years of loyal service would count for more but I understand the business decision that had to be made.
