    Pros

This district has really great people. but the overall organization is atrocious. There are few policies rolled out district wide (SST, Pre-referral interventions, RtI, discipline practices, etc.), and while the district is attempting to rise from the ashes and start anew, like the proverbial phoenix, somehow it continues to fall short. One of the reasons for this is that they fail to recognize the talent they already have within the district (e.g. psychologists, counselors), and seek outside agencies to bring in expertise that the district already has. Another major issue is compensation and benefits. We're just not competitive, so we continually lose people to better paying districts, that actually provide district-paid benefits. We're working to change things, but it is difficult. This union is completely useless as far as representing the needs of any of the special educators.

    Cons

Organization, no district-wide procedures, terrible pay, employee-paid benefits, union

    Advice to Management

Utilize the talents and assets you already possess. Improve salary and benefits for psychologists, or continue to LOSE them to districts which value their psychologists.

    Pros

pay was good, overtime opportunities, hours are good, great staff. building up vacation and sick is easy. will work around any time off you may need

    Cons

same routine every day, no chance for advancement once you get to certain schools, micro management, health benefits expensive for entire family even with monthly stipend they give you.

    Advice to Management

More (outside) training to advance qualified personnel
