    Pros

great pay and insurance in a union controlled work place

    Cons

working 10 to 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and 8 on Sunday there is little time for anything else. The place is very backwards and poorly maintained,As a result the poisonous gasses from anodize and sulfuric acid used with aluminum extrusion will get you. They do not care.

    Advice to Management

Fire all the maintenance and management.Hire experienced people for these positions.Hire more people at 48 hours a week not 68.You are killing people.

I have been working at Sapa Group

    Pros

Very flexible hours and as long as you do your job you are appreciatedand generally accommodated. Good pay if you have the experience to back it up. Not the best place I have worked, but also not the worst.

    Cons

No vacation accrued until after one year, long wait time to be hired on, limited budgets create constraints available inventory. Also no extra perks like bonuses or matching retirement distributions, and very little opportunity for a raise from what I understand. It seems that the production department really struggles with the operating system they are currently using to control workflow, and putting a little more money into a user-friendly system would go along way in both organization and overall profits because jobs would not have to be done twice or shuffled around so much.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the slackers and crybabies, implement TPM practices and repair known issues before they become complete breakdowns. Purchase a better inventory control system for the production line to useso that they can be efficient in their jobs.

    Pros

Training , safety , work ethics are well above par when you look at other companies that are trying to compete on a global level , they are one of the leaders in the field .

    Cons

The only downside I have is working the graveyard shift but in my area it makes for a much easier commute . Other than that I don't have much bad to say .

    Advice to Management

As for advice to Management I would have to go with keep what you're doing on track and recognize the talents / skill sets that each employee has .

    Pros

    Being at home with family

    Cons

Descent hourly pay but no hours. Maint. Crews of 3 to take care of the entire plant. Crew members weren't knowledgeable. Upper management do not care about employees or their families. Never have parts or material to make repairs right. Always having to do the same job the wrong way over and over. Would not recommend this job to anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Start over.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are above average in my opinion. Pace of actual work is tolerable. Fairly safe work environment. Digging deep for those. Although from what I hear all sapa plants are not the same.

    Cons

Hostility (not physical) in most every aspect and department witnessed first hand. Dog eat dog environment that is bolstered and encouraged from the top down. Put on your game face and pads before you go in every day kind of place. Also HR has earned a reputation for negligence to a degree that is almost criminal. For example to name a few, missing wage increases one week to the next, missing hours on check, when bid is placed by employee for available job opening employees regularly photograph the bid they put in because if they don't they have ended up in departments they did not bid for. No such thing as teamwork. My supervisor at least is not afraid to outright lie flat out if it will get you out of his office for another day. Currently actively pursuing other career opportunities. Having said all that they do pay well and benefits are above average. If culture changed it would probably be a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Corporate level needs to step in and reestablish a work atmosphere that fosters teamwork and profitability
