    Cons

Compensation was under market and work-life balance could be better.

Sapient can't compete in the federal space due to high rates

    Pros

Sapient hires the best and brightest, really, everyone is super smart. They encourage new ideas, and do a good job selling digital services, as a high-priced niche offering.

    Cons

Everyone is a prima donna and everyone works on projects beyond their experience, trusting that they will figure it out. However, their price structure in the federal space is set way too high by what they call "the mother ship"--corporate, a commercial company advertising agency--so they really can't compete except on niched jobs that are short in duration, and low dollars. This makes them difficult to team with, since their margin requirements are difficult for the federal government to swallow.

    Advice to Management

Now that the company has been purchased by a foreign-owned firm, rather than trying to set up a proxy board, just sell the Government Solutions area and be done with it, since you have pretty much abandoned the federal space anyway, with the exception of healthcare.

    Pros

Snacks, benefits, and the PEOPLE are amazing

    Cons

If you're not working onsite (in the office) you miss out on a LOT of the company culture and the benefits that come with being present in the home office.

    Pros

Great company culture, people, fun atmosphere. Building right next to the back bay station, so great if you can commute that way.

    Cons

My commute unfortunately wasn't convenient to the MBTA so the drove home in the evenings as particularly heinous.

    Pros

Never a dull moment, great clients fast passed

    Cons

Work life balance, sometimes promotions don't go with the level you are performing. Sadly time in position is a big part of the promotion formula

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good pay, so-so benefits, flexibility, ability to work from home or remotely with other offices, get to travel to other offices globally, smart and individually some nice people. Getting thrown in the deepens means you'll learn new things quickly that you might not have opportunity to learn elsewhere

    Cons

Poor communication: a lot of talkers and few listeners, projects tend to be highly segmented and waterfall where silos don't often talk with each other, documentation gets thrown over a wall. Staffing: it's a luxury to be staffed in something in your specialty, worse so if you're not a manager, there's a sense if you don't do this you can kiss the job goodbye, frequent layoffs Culture: hierarchical, elitist, and highly political, lack of transparency, and very process oriented, as in do things out way or else, terrible work-life balance, expected to travel last minute, at the drop of a hat, to anywhere because they say so, or again, lose the job

    Advice to Management

Treat people better, be transparent in staffing, ditch the top down management approach, and start listening to everyone.
