    Sounded great at first...

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFamily-like atmosphere. Compensation and Benefits are good. Focused on helping employees stay healthy

ConsCompany is acquiring a lot of smaller companies very quickly. This is causing far too many staffing shake-ups.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus more on innovation rather than yield

Stable company that pays a good wage with great benefits.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood pay and benefits. Once you get a posted job it's regular hours. Worked with a good group of people.

ConsLots of changes all the time. Management could listen more. Depending on what job you are doing it can be hard work. Some of the old guys want you to slow down to not make them look bad.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the guys on the floor more. Lots of them have been there longer than the supervisors. More training for new guys when they are first starting out.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsStable company, a lot of acquisitions, people are genuine

ConsSystems are older than other CPG companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut some dollars into upgrading the operating system, focus on management training for employees, and look to expand dairy business into other types of milk other than cow

    Great place to work

Human Resources (Current Employee) Ottawa, ON (Canada)

    ProsGreat company
    People Oriented
If you life close to a bigger center, lots of opportunities to grow
    Great history
Can learn a lot, even without formal education
A lot of passionate people leading the company

ConsIf far from big center, growing may be limited
Some people do not understand the culture
Torn between changing (adapting) vs. maintaining current practices.
Things can happen either too fast, or too slow...

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the great work

Look somwhere else for a job....

Production (Former Employee) Edmonton, AB (Canada)

ProsReasonable pay and benefits for most union jobs (Edmonton, AB)

ConsIncompetent management: inconsistent communication of procedures then public criticism or attack of employees who are targeted as scapegoats despite - or because of - their competence, resulting in bullying being accepted as "competent management dealing with incompetent employees" and the creation of a poisonous corporate culture. Subsequent demoralization results in high turnover of staff and management perceived as beleagured.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed more competent people to run this place. They run the business as the sugar plantations last century, by threats and bullying the employees - the union does not always cope with all the issues... The training is all by word of mouth by another employee on the floor; some are better...some are worse.

Transportation Supervisor - Western Canada (Former Employee) Calgary, AB (Canada)

ProsThe Saputo team all have the same common goals, which at the end of the day it makes achieving your targets a very good experience

ConsVery strong culture, makes the change process a little challenging at times but as long as you have the data to back it up you will have the support from the Senior Management and VP's

Advice to Senior ManagementI had a very good experience working at Saputo

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
