Pros
Good pay, minimal supervision, chance for growth.
Cons
Long hours, rude customers, store managers
Pros
The only reason I could see working at Sara Lee is its a stable company for the most part, thats about it.
Cons
Totally not a professional sales management position. If you like physical labor and not professional management, than the Disttrict Sales Manager is for you.
Advice to Senior Management
The District Sales Manager position need to be overhauled all together. Set up the position to manage and grow the business, not replace route reps.
Pros
Knowledge of the experienced staff, some of the best minds in the meat industry, superior food safety programs and policies
Cons
overall compensation, uncertainty going forward, senior management, lack of knowledge of the processes and business, the new marketing talent that has no clue as to what "meat" is is amazing. Hard to become the best meat company in the US when you dont have a clue
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to what the experienced employees have to say. If the current plan involves major attrition losses then you are heading in the right direction but i doubt thats the direction that will led to success
Pros
Great flexibility, work your own schedule. They promote within so you can apply across all areas if you are looking to move up.
Cons
New management is clueless as to employees needs
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to. Employees and your customers
Pros
Respected at work, empowered, good supply chain.
Cons
Change
Corporate employees enjoy many more "perks" than field employees. Holiday parties, cookouts, company store, on-site cafeteria.
Advice to Senior Management
Let's pick a path and stick to it.
Pros
Overall the people are very friendly and you can have work/life balance as long as you are willing to put in extra time when needed.
Cons
The politics are insane...people are recognized for who they know and not the job they do.
Advice to Senior Management
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is just not smart.
Pros
Decent pay and benefits. Opportunity to become more comfortable with chance. Opportunity to work across multiple divisions including Meat, and Frozen bakery.
Cons
Too much change, short term business focus. Makes it difficult to develop meaningful relationships with co-workers. Lots of knowledge and experience leaving the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Management decisions seem to only benefit senior staff and "share holder" equity. Less concern for the well being of employee. Two year layoff cycle has become too predictable.
Pros
The site General Manager was very flexible with his staff and supported a job work life balance for his staff.
Cons
The opportunity for career advancement at your local plant. You had to relocate if you wanted career promotional and advancement opportunites. Elimination of penison plan.
Pros
Only reason to work there is the higher than market salary and the view form the office to the sea-side
Cons
Senior management are narrow-minded and they can't acknowledge things that they don't find out by themselves. You're encourage to participate, but they don't want to hear what you have to say. If you don't agree, You're out
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good look at the (local spain) numbers and at the (local) satisfaction. Do some real research and find out how people think of senior management. If your employees don't respect your management team, how can they follow you?
Pros
Compensation is satisfactory. Personal demands are acceptable. Great brand recognition. Positive name to have on a resume-- potential employers respect the company.
Cons
This is a company that has no idea of how to function. In the era of the former CEO, the emphasis was being the best of the politically correct companies whether a profit was made or not. Now, two bickering groups if upper management simply want to get away from each other and do their own thing.
Advice to Senior Management
Get the break up done as quickly as possible--quit pretending this is all going well. Just get it done and over with and PLEASE put all of us in seperate buildings when it is over.
