I worked at Savanna Energy Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Savanna is a smaller energy company that makes it easy to develop relationships with other departments, and this helped to flatten the structure a bit. Everyone is very friendly, and before the economic downturn, Savanna valued their people, and employee morale was very good.

    Cons

Very management heavy, where it seemed that a lot of people in these roles did not understand their responsibilities, or communicate their expectations of work to employees well. Structure is very high. Training is non-existent. Since the economic downturn, employee morale was very low.

    Advice to Management

Even with the economy, besides worrying about cash-flow and the bottom line, you need to focus on your people with training, guidance and support.

    Pros

    A pay check, nothing else

    Cons

Poor management. Office personal have no field experience or understanding of the industry. New equipment is poorly maintained and run into the ground. Safety is only a slogan. The companies core values are words and nothing more. The stock performance speaks for the quaility of the company!

    Advice to Management

    Learn from the field personal!

I worked at Savanna Energy Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Senior Management, HR very supportive of career growth opportunities, especially if you ask for it. Great people, atmosphere and potential. Hours are great.

    Cons

Balance of being a 'dumb iron' company and developing new products sometimes challenging, thought that's par for the course for oilfield services with large fleets.
