Fun environment but not the most professional

Compliance Director (Former Employee)
Miramar, FL

I worked at Saveology.com full-time for less than a year

ProsFun, ever changing, Free Candy, Soda, and Popcorn!

ConsUnprofessional, many people who were once call center reps now hold Sr. level roles and are not qualified to hold these postions.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange has to come from the top down, you cant just want the people that report to you to do right by your customers.

Worst job I ever had

Management (Current Employee)
Margate, FL

I have been working at Saveology.com full-time for more than 3 years

ProsFree coffee and candy in the Managers break room.

ConsThis immoral, unethical company fosters the idea of making the sale at any cost - it doesn't matter if you lie to the customer, or make promises you know you are unable to fulfill, as long as the customer commits to making the sale. Saveology is an outsource call center for various telephone, cable and modem services. The sales agents, even those who are working in the Philippines, India or South America, are instructed to say that they are located in Florida, many even talk about the weather conditions in FL that day.
There is a division that provides technical support similar to Apple Care. Saveology pays to be one of the first links on the screen when a customer does an internet search for technical support for a brand, i.e. Apple. Customers call, thinking they are speaking directly with Apple Care, or HP Support, and the sales agents do not tell them that they are speaking with Saveology. Many of these agents actually tell the customer that they did not purchase telephone support, even though (in the case of Apple) it comes free of charge. The customer is then convinced to purchase support for $100 or more, which they don't need.
An indication of employee dissatisfaction is the number of staff who, even in a poor economy, have resigned, many without having another job to go to. Even high level management positions have had a high turnover rate.
In the last few months, their BBB rating has become and F, and they have lost their accreditation. I am currently looking for another job because I have serious doubts as to whether Saveology will still be operating five years from now.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart treating employees with some respect, and encourage them to make a valid sale to the customer instead of encouraging unethical sales practices.

Cons- Poor Salary
- Worst Treatment
- Firing Culture

Avoid at all costs.

Tech Support(Riiight More Like Scam/Sales) (Former Employee)
South Plainfield, NJ

I worked at Saveology.com full-time for less than a year

ProsThere are no pro's to working there.

ConsEverything. They even lie to you on pay they always short you.Training is a week sometimes a couple days,by a lady you can tell a mile away doesn't have a clue about telesales let alone how to train people into it.

You're thrown to the wolves to sell scams all day and get pressured and harassed when you need assistance. Management is psycho's,bullies, dummies or a combination.

They LOVE humiliating people there and then fire them anyways.

You're better off flipping burgers or greeting people at Walmart .There you won't get fired for parking in the boss's spot or not selling after a long THREE WEEKS!

Worst experience of all time.Just getting yelled at and scamming people on the phone. This company should be investigated by the Feds.

Advice to Senior ManagementFire yourselves and hire people with real call center experience in legit enterprises. Not people with fake medals.

Inhuman and worst salary and treament

Salesforce Developer (Current Employee)
Fort Lauderdale, FL

I have been working at Saveology.com full-time for more than a year

ProsPrepare for no life, dishonesty, betrayal, least job security and worst set of racist, religion discrimination

ConsWithin a 14th day I found CTO crying in his room, yelling this is my 14th day and I got warning to be fired- if CTO claims this what else you can expect of. IT team have 'zero' recognition-

Advice to Senior Management- Stop fooling people and selling piece of scam offers - around 35 legal cases are running against the companies, aren't they suffice

Good place to be if you like working in sales

Inbound Sales (Former Employee)
South Plainfield, NJ

I worked at Saveology.com full-time for less than a year

ProsPay is decent, good commission structure, sales oriented and managers and coworkers will help you every step of the way. Hours range from 8AM to 12 Midnight or 1AM, so there is some flexibility in scheduling, although if you are new, you'll probably get the later shifts. Company always paid out properly and I never had any issues with commission disputes, etc. Company is sales driven, and supports producers, so if you are good at sales, you'll find this job to be a piece of cake. Overall, I liked the company, I left to go to a different job, but would recommend this company to others and I would return there myself, as well.

ConsThe big downer here was that it wasn't truly a full-time position when I was there. When the calls were coming in, you could work a full shift and make decent money. However, there were many periods of downtime, when the calls weren't coming in. When that happens, they send workers home early. Working 3 or 4 hour days with no calls (and therefore no sales to be made) didn't cut it for me so I had to go elsewhere.

This place also has huge turnover rates, much of the time it is due to the fact that they will hire anyone, and many of those people aren't cut out for sales. They get frustrated and leave or they are fired, both of which causes frustration among other employees who then feel that they may be on the chopping block next.

Parking is horrifying, and if you don't get a spot, you are expected to park far away from the actual building, which is an annoyance.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake hiring more effective and reduce turnover by not just hiring anyone who comes in. Certain personality types and backgrounds are most likely not going to be successful in a sales job, and that can be avoided with a little extra screening at hiring time.

Great opportunity for motivated minds

Manager (Current Employee)
Margate, FL

I have been working at Saveology.com full-time for more than a year

ProsTons of opportunity to grow with the company. The atmosphere is fun, young & entrepreneurial. If you're the type of person that is motivated and wants to be a part of something big then you will do very well there. The people you get to work with are very smart, funny and always willing to help out. The office is huge and equipped with a workout gym, half basketball court, monkeys, fish, parrots, free candy & soda, etc.

ConsThere's tons of bad reviews for Saveology probably because it's easier for people to complain about a company than to stand up and make a change. Truth is Saveology has the same problems you would find at any other start-up and the problems aren't that un-common. If you're the type of person that just wants a job so you can collect a pay check then Saveology probably isn't for you. The company wants change and has high expectations for all employees. With that being said there is an expectation that most employees should be willing to put in long hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere's a lot of people that go unrecognized for their hard work. Employees are willing to work much harder when they receive constructive feedback on a regular basis.

Entry Level employee for Corporate Saveology

Home Services Email and SMS Manager (Current Employee)
Margate, FL

I have been working at Saveology.com full-time for more than a year

ProsI've never worked at a company where so many executives listen to the ideas and questions of all their employees so much. Everyone here has trust and faith in the people around them to do their job and it makes for an great environment to grow your career.

ConsIt can be easy to become comfortable with the people directly around you, but the best way to grow at Saveology is to knock down doors of people you don't know and find out what they do and how they impact the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention to mobile marketing. There is a lot of power in a cell phone device. Mobile is often on page 6 of a to-do list, but in is most powerful when used in concert with other forms of marketing. Make 2013 the year of mobile marketing!
