Current Employee – been working at Sax Macy Fromm & Co full-time for more than a year
Pros – Full training in all aspects of accounting and tax. I felt super prepared. Friends in other places didn't receive the same. Most vacation time out of all the firms I interviewed with. Coworkers get together outside of work too which is nice. I would remain friends with people even if I left.
Cons – OT in the summer and fall sometimes. I would also like more feedback on how I'm doing.
Advice to Senior Management – keep making improvements and implementing new ideas. maybe have anonymous forum where staff can submit ideas.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – The staff (not management) is great! You build long lasting friendships with them. Training program is like no other and they do care about the development of the staff. They have a soda machine that is free which I guess is good. The office itself is very nice even though most of the staff sits in cubicles.
Cons – Office politics are the worst and they start with the Human Resources dept and Partner. In order to rank high in the ratings, they would ask their employees to write good reviews on Glassdoor and on surveys given out.
Advice to Senior Management – Advice? Why bother, they won't listen.

Pros – Hours (esp busy season) are better than most firms, Great people to work with - challenging and diverse work. Family friendly. Will listen to you and are open to make changes. Great atmosphere.
Cons – Don't let the bad apples go quick enough. Would like to see more new faces.
Advice to Senior Management – Drop the bad apples they're ruining it for everyone else!

Former Employee – worked at Sax Macy Fromm & Co
Pros – Other than tax season, hours are very reasonable. Not much else
Cons – Ever since the economy went south, upper management started to treat the employees like garbage. They have laid people off like its a bodily function. At its peak Sax Macy had approximately 130 employees, Sax Macy is currently at maybe 100 employees. Office politics is unbearable. Constructive criticism is given too late and management is all too eager to throw people under the bus.
Advice to Senior Management – Partners need to start treating its employees with respect.
