I have been working at Sbarro part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    It's fun to make pizza.

    Cons

The pay isn't great. It's higher than minimum wage though. You burn yourself a lot on the oven and lights. The store is badly in need of remodeling. Conflict with co-worker. Assistant Manager wants to quit after other assistant manager quit. Other co-worker quit yesterday. Boss wanted me to come in sick but I got a doctor's note so he couldn't tell me to come in.

I have been working at Sbarro full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The pros are working with people constantly We are like a family at Sbarro and our customers are like relatives that are coming over to eat so we try to give every one a since of fun and suggest meal ideas that we ourselves have tried we give free items daily through promotions we have contests with other stores

    Cons

Rotated schedules, long shifts, favoritism develops which can effect promotions, in the later years Sbarro has become a push push push sales environment breaking away from the family environment it used to be the company has financial troubles that leads to few raises I haven't received mine for four years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less sales pushing if the products are made right the customers will comeback the pushing only makes them go away

I have been working at Sbarro full-time

    Pros

Great PTO policies, Decent pay, and a small unit to maintain.

    Cons

No work/life balance, Almost impossible for older mall units to make a bonus. Out dated pay scale for team members and you have to go thru too many channels for approval on basic equipment repairs. You lose many good employees due to lack of pay raises along with the high demands of each position of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about your employees that are essentially generating the cash flow in which you collect large amounts of money each year. It would be nice to see actions!! Cut the GM's workweek from 56 to 50 hours. Some times giving the managers some time away allows them to relax and come back ready to work harder. They will not be as tired and stressed out in turn creating a more productive work environment.

I worked at Sbarro part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I was paid above minimum wage, which was great for a first job, coworkers were fun to be around and talk to, and it was nice being able to interact with customers.

    Cons

I'm not sure if it was just my store, but the general manager was a joke. He didn't care about anything. Equipment would break and it would take weeks for him to even mention it and months for him to fix the equipment. We had leaks, the soda machine broke multiple times, and the lights went out often. It was a disaster. He also wouldn't let me take a few days off for family emergencies, but he let my coworkers. It was ridiculous. The hours were also unstable. I asked for 20-25 hours a week, because I'm a full-time student. There were weeks where I would get as little as 9 hours and as high as 35. Overall, it was just unorganized and biased. I would never work here again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to how general managers are running the stores.
