    Pros

Can learn a wide range of networking technologies. Product is interesting and has good potential.

    Cons

Most of company revenue are from service projects, so profit margin is low. Most of project deadline are tight. Product quality are low.

    Advice to Management

Focus on improving product quality instead of pushing products without fully tested into the market in a rush.

    Pros

Great exposure, healthy work environment and no office politics! Technically, I have learned a lot and am constant exposed to interesting problems. Growth of company seems pretty strong!

    Cons

Work hours can be harsh around deadlines. Pressure isnt too bad, at the same time feedback is low. Benefits can be better.

    Advice to Management

Better benefits and maybe some free time to experiment a la Google. Also, the option to choose projects once in a while would be great!

    Pros

The people are excellent and the hours are good. Everyone is friendly and there is a real feeling of camaraderie. Although the rest of the country is going through a recession, this company continues to grow and give bonuses and remain a strong player in the market. Everyone understands that things happen, and people are people. If you need to work from home sometimes, that's cool. If you need to leave early sometimes, that's cool too, just make up for it later. A very smart and understanding group of people. I would definitely give this company a look. A good place to work.

    Cons

The pay is a bit lower than the average.

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring good people.

    Pros

Historically had a high ratio of advanced degrees, particularly in computer networks. Employees are smart and friendly. The atmosphere is collegial. A great place to transition from grad school to industry. The technology is interesting/advanced, so you can learn a lot at first. CEO is fantastic at business development. Flexible work hours, and employees can work from home for extended periods.

    Cons

The company is small with a very focused product suite, so there's not a great variety of technology to work on. It's mostly C++. There's a lot of deadline pressure, which makes it hard to allow people to move between projects, and also produces a lot of technical debt in the software. Most software engineers are straight out of school and mentoring in good software development practices is lacking. The company size means there isn't a lot of career growth after the first few years. The CEO is reluctant to share how the company is doing financially and as good at motivating employees as he is at motivating customers.
