Cons – The salary (if not in Sales) is below average. Your reward for staying with the company is more work due to the constant turnover. In order to advance, you must be willing to work 11:30 am - 8:30 pm. Your raise is the shift differential pay to work those hours.

Advice to Senior Management – Invest in the employees you have. That would allow you to spend less time interviewing potential new employees, who will also seek employment elsewhere due to below average salary offered.

Pros – Great work environment, friendly co-workers and open communication between all levels of management. Good flexibility when it comes to lunch hours, breaks and vacation time.

Cons – Compensation not on par as you continue to advance within the company, entry-level hours (i.e. 11:30 to 8:30) are not preferred and limited opportunities for advancement long term.

Advice to Senior Management – Make sure to fairly compensate your most valuable employees otherwise they'll continue to take opportunities external to ScanSource.

Pros – Great family atmosphere, most managers encourage innovation, great benefits, profit sharing, and it's just plain fun. Experienced management, and a company that really knows how to execute its business plan.

Cons – Career advancement is an issue (management has acknowledged this, and I hope they are working on some changes in this department,) and the money could be better.

Advice to Senior Management – A little more money, and throw some new titles around, please.

Great at helping you manage a life outside of work. Very lenient on scheduling time off, mid-day appts and misc. personal obligations

Cons – Lots of opportunities for new career experiences but most are lateral moves and involve no merit increase.
