    OVERWORKED, UNDER APPRECIATED, DISRESPECTED

I have been working at Schaeffler Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good compensation, good health benefits

    Cons

Management knows everything, blames problems they create on their reports. Management doesn't lead, they dictate.

    Merit raises are a joke

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look in the mirror and realize you're part ,if not most of the problem.

    I worked at Schaeffler Group

    Pros

That I had a job and decent medical insurance.

    Cons

    Plant 6. Assembly

Ha, where to start ? Extremely low moral due to:

If you value family and have a life, this is not the place to work. 6 sometimes 7 days a week. You never know until the Thursday before the weekend if you have to work Saturday and/or Sunday so you can't plan anything in advance. They change shifts on you without notice or consent.

Upper management talks down to the employees, sometimes cussing.

They micromanage the hell out of everything.

No one is held accountable for any mistakes so quality is nonexistent.

The quality department is a joke. They don't hold vendors accountable for unacceptable parts. They expect operators to sort through parts for them.

No one follows through with any repairs or problems.

A multimillion dollar company that won't order back up supplies.

Advancement in the company is a joke.

Low wages for the automotive industry.

Pay and treatment of employees vary, no consistency. Including when raises are given. It's whatever suits them.

There are no plans, everything is day by day. When you go in you have to ask the previous person what's going on, management doesn't seem to have a clue.

Supervisors don't exist at this company, just babysitters for all the affirmative Acton hired gossips. The longer someone has been there the less they have to work it seems.

And finally, they have major communication issues! Upper and mid management do not know how to communicate. The employees find out what's going on from other employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to actually LISTEN to what your employees have to say then do something with it instead of always just dictating.

    D espotic micro-management.

    U nrequited loyalty.

This company's best years 'went up in flames' with the former plant manager, in that untimely automobile accident.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Forget it! You don't listen to us, you won't listen to this!

    Pros

Company keeps getting more business so there is plenty of work

    Cons

There is a major disconnect between "Corporate" and "Plant". Corporate employees typically spend more time trying to avoid doing something and socializing while the manufacturing employees are worked to the bone...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less people in the ivory towers and more help to the plants...

I have been working at Schaeffler Group full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers. People who care about doing a good job work here. Pay is decent.

    Cons

The plant management and communication are still uncertain. Plant runs 7 days a week and management consistently promises employees they will be off of 7 day work weeks while taking on more customers than current or future capacity seems to be able to handle. No clear step by step plan of action has been communicated to lower level employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clearer direction about the current challenges facing the company and future workload.

    Pros

    Good co workers
    A.C building

    Cons

    micro management
Upper management is so bad, the CEO needs to do supersize visits
9.65 starting wage for making a part that will go inside corvette
the term "throne in with the wolves" is sooo true
    NO training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise the wages to at least 13.50 because you have the capital to do so and we arent making cheese burgers, we are making parts for cars. listen to your workers because without them you would most likely be unemployed.

I worked at Schaeffler Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Made many good friends. Learned how to handle a negative and malicious environment. Great Corporate Leaders.

    Cons

There is an extremely high turn over rate with salary employee. The environment is very political. Many people have stated that they fear contacting corporate. They fear corporate will get their number if they call them Anonymously. Some leader do retaliate that makes employees uncomfortable. There are some women discrimination.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Investigation in the plant needs to be performed to explain the high turn over rate with Salary employees. Corporate needs to interview each employee or somehow create a way where an employee can contact corporate without making them feel uncomfortable or feel secure that they will be anonymous.
