Current Employee – been working at Schafer Corp. full-time

Pros – Solid support staff and very professional employee base. Good pay easy access to top management.

Cons – Very outdated technology and excessive turnover of parent company management. Private equity owners are aggressive

Advice to Senior Management – Stick around and try to build the team you have hired. Turnover is killing operating efficiency and creates uncertainty among employees.

Former Employee – worked at Schafer Corp. full-time for more than 7 years

Pros – Good pay and interesting work when working at Kirtland Air Force Base. Customers can be a bit hard to please coupled with what I call "contractor-itus. Also, there is friction between competing contractors on base.

Cons – You just don't know where your next contract is going to come from and things can get cancelled in a hurry. I was forced to work half time for 6 months (I still had benefits, however)before being laid off.

Advice to Senior Management – Treat you people with a little more respect.

Pros – Good pay, smart people. The environment is as good as one might expect.

Cons – My manager, while technically competent and motivated was sorely lacking in people skills. Moody as well.

Also, government agencies are some of the worst, most bureaucratic clients there are.

Advice to Senior Management – Well done in a tough industry.
