Pros
Fun place to work. Good people and management seems to care about the people. Benefits and perks are good and the work environment is phenomenal. I am new to the company but see this as a place that I can learn and grow as I am also relatively new to this industry. I am excited about what the future holds.
Cons
The company/office that I am in has grown exponentially in the last few months. We are experiencing growning pains and they don't seem to be being addressed in some of the more important areas which could effect how employees are impacted. Only time will tell and it will be a true test of the leadership of the management team.
Advice to Senior Management
NA
Pros
commute is easy
lots of places to eat and shop around building
Cons
extremely low pay
no performance reviews
no raises
management has no clue what they are doing
people get treated like crap
Advice to Senior Management
monkey see monkey do, remember you are an example to your employees start acting like an adult.
Pros
You have the ability to collaborate with different offices from different disciplines which gives you exposure to different clients. Everybody works as a team to get things done and you have the opportunity to really own a project.
Cons
Sometimes late hours, but this is standard with any agency. There is not really career training, which is something that would be a plus to get ahead.
Advice to Senior Management
Offer advance career training.
Pros
-Benefits package was very generous and reasonably priced.
-Chicago location is a really easy commute in a fun part of the city.
Cons
-Management is very under trained.
-Many managers are more interested in telling the teams how much they messed up instead of identifying areas where the team excelled.
-Overall moral is low due to frequent layoffs.
-No work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
You have good employees. You need to treat them well. Show them that you appreciate them by giving raises and paying them what they are worth. There needs to be a work/life balance. Remember your employees are not slaves. They are human beings with families and lives outside of Schawk.
Pros
Good Wage
Good Insurance
Good Benefits (Dental, Vision, Life, Health)
Cons
Layoffs
Downsizing
Outsourcing
Powerlessness
Sense of Failure despite your best efforts and hard work
Advice to Senior Management
Change just for change’s sake will never benefit you. Why lay off trained, experienced onsite workers to hire new, inexperienced workers a few hundred miles away? This IS the age of connectivity, no matter where the location. You throw away talent, loyalty and experience for uncertainty at best. This company has too much personnel churn and too little respect for American workers and their reasons for working for you.
Pros
Multiple types of flexible schedules
Cons
low pay. no advancement. Not appreciated.
Pros
There were some nice people working there.
Cons
Senior management did little to improve the place.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the hard-working employees.
Pros
Interesting high profile projects and clients, good working/professional relationships with other non-management employees, well maintained and updated equipment and computers, good onsite IT support, flex time schedule needed to cope with Atlanta's traffic.
Cons
Promotions/ opportunities for advancement almost non-existant, based on political and personal connections rather than merit or talent. Feedback from managers and reviews do not happen on a regular schedule. Lack of professionalism throughout the management. Employees either remove themselves from the situation by finding a new job or choose to stay and become very demoralized and frustrated. The current job market makes Schawk look like the turnover is not that bad, but it would be if it was easier to find another job quickly.
Pros
Anthem provides employees opportunities to engage with some exciting clients and provides clients a strong value added through their methods of branding and design rooted in careful strategy.
Cons
There is little emphasis on career development for employees. Senior management pays little mind of employee career goals and opportunities for advancement are few and far between.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the grumblings of your employees. For a company that provides creative services, they are your greatest assets.
Pros
Fun people, ability to develop strong relationships with immediate supervisors.
Cons
Poor morale stemming from disrespectful management. People need to be able to understand where their career is headed and to be rewarded for the pace of the work.
