I have been working at Schepens Eye Research Institute full-time

    Pros

The people are fantastic, everyone is so sweet, and there are happy hours once a month on Fridays. The work is pretty easy.

    Cons

Underpaid, no one else does their job so you have to wait weeks for anything to get done. Benefits suck now that Mass Eye and Ear has "merged" with us. Little to no growth potential.

I worked at Schepens Eye Research Institute full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good flexible hours. No micro managing most of the time. Easy to learn new things.

    Cons

Work politics is rampant. People like to push their weight around. No advancement opportunities really. It's a research place which means if there are no funds there will be no raises. PI's usually have big egos and can resort to bullying. Work gets tedious and boring.

    Pros

Flexible and just focus on the research.
    The research program is interesting

But if a student, that will be fine

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the material is not managed good enough. Some time you can't found the material. I think this should be improved.

I have been working at Schepens Eye Research Institute

    Pros

Work with intelligent, excellent people. Quench you scientific mind. Participate in great research projects. Opportunity to expand your knowledge with open seminars for employees.

    Cons

The only con that I can think of is the lack of parking near the facility, but that is expected considering the location. The upside to this con is that the company reimburses 45% of the cost of public transportation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would give the management an A+. Everyone is super nice, efficient, and seem to know what they are doing.

    Recommends
