Promotions are few and far between.
Merck is screwing everything up. they have very little regard for scientists or the scientific process. Merck uses antiquated techniques and has no problem throwing money out the window for shiny new toys.

It doesn't matter. Merck has taken over like a virus.

Schering plough is now Merck - lot of reorganization going on. Many were laid off. Morale is low and tension/stress is high.

Listen to employees - show you care.
There is a lot of hidden discrimination going on - have skip level meetings to find out what is going on in each group.
