heard that the work and life balanced for the first 3 year is terrible, but you'll earn alot working there
Advice to Senior Management
open the research jobs
Pros
Get a lot of training, experience and knowledge of oilfield, a lot of pressure from above management and having to deal with different people, do whatever needed to do to execute the job - all of that is more than huge experience for just one job
Cons
No time off,
pressure,
training,
little respect from management to people, almost no respect,
bad working environments compared to other companies

Cons
high mobility which affects work-life balance
Pros

Great 401k
Build relationships with people from everywhere
Cons
Some of the workers have terrible morale
Being so large it takes months to get anything done
You are easily replaceable
Their own policy and procedures are so over the top that half of everyones job is assuring everything is in compliance according to Quest/CAT Checklists
Advice to Senior Management
Continue building relationships with the smallest guy to the largest.
Don't get caught up in all the rules about driving. Yea it probably does reduce accidents, but the employees mock the policy becuase several managers themselves do not follow it. If you are going to implement a policy or procedure follow it in all locations.
Pros
great opportunities for new graduates in oil and gas industry
high salary income
Cons
not an office job, always on the run!
Pros
- get exposure of many great technologies
- Working with many experts from different field
- flexible working hours
- great career opportunity
Cons
- competitive pay
- slow growth
Pros
Proactive people, great leadership opportunities, best in its field
Cons
Promotion slows down after hitting mid-management level, bias may rear up in certain regions with certain nationalities, in spite of the management's best efforts to keep it truly diverse and inclusive. Overall, great place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Implement better opportunities and clear career planning for mid-level managers, instead of not defining any specific roles and opportunities.
Pros
Training: fixed step training for 3 yrs
Exposure to latest and greatest technology
Responsibility given early and what you do with it determines your progression
Fast pase tests knowledge and responsibility (dont make a mistake)
Vast array of career maps and options that reduce as you move higher
Cons
Easy and very possible to have lack of work/life balance for first 3 yrs.
Can seem lost during first 2 yrs until you complete GFE (possible turning point in career)
No structured/effective mentoring program
Management can get caught up in red tape
Career options/maps reduce as you move higher especially if you are technical
Too much restructuring and confusing changes
Advice to Senior Management
Focus: management is about looking WAY forward not managing now and tomorrow
Confusing may be due to guard change:should be okay
Continue the focus on people and utilization
Pros
Great advancement opportunities. Diverse work environment.
Cons
Fast pace might be a downside to some
Pros
hands on challanging job that requires hard work and dedication. you will get a lot of responsibility very quickly and it will be up to you to thrive in those conditions or fall out.
Cons
The job requires a non-traditional lifestyle. It is not monday through friday and there is not such thing as a 40 hr week. Average work weeks are 65-70 hrs but it does not seem like you are working that much if you really enjoy it.
