Pros
If you perform, there will be a lot of opportunities
Cons
Because it s a large company, you have to deal with a number of administrative tasks
Pros
“Great to company to start with -- get exposure to technology, operations, business side very quickly. People with ambition move up very quickly if they are willing to move…”
Cons
“work/life balance is not there hectic nature of business (service company!!!) personal considerations are not always met people management could be quite bad, HR…”
Advice to Senior Management
Fix HR!
Work on life/balance!
Pay for employee parking
Pros
Brilliant engineering
Highly skilled engineers
diversity of people and background
Cons
Recognition
Management of project
seniority technical career
Advice to Senior Management
More respect for employees
Pros
technology, people, work and personal life balance
Cons
promotions are limited as in most corporations
Pros
#1 service company in the world
international career opportunities
good benefits
excellent training programs
good career path offers
very diverse population at any location
Cons
since the company is extremely large it`s easy to get lost in the system, one has to push hard to attain what he/she desires from own career.
Advice to Senior Management
I don`t believe management in this company listens to any feedback from its employees.
Pros
Managers are flexible. Mine have been very good at giving me feedback. Your career opportunities are really as big as you want them to be, but you have to work at finding the path.
Cons
There is a tendency to jump from one trendy management program to another. It's not a fatal flaw, but it's annoying. There also seems to be a lack of structure when it comes to bettering yourself in your profession. Schlumberger does have a number professional improvement programs, and they develop them with the best of intentions, but they're often very hard to decipher for the uninitiated, and it takes so much time, you can't figure it out and do your job.
Advice to Senior Management
Your people want to do better. Offer them a straightforward path and clearer direction. Otherwise, I love it here. It's hard to find a better place to work.
Pros
Good team work and job attitude
Cons
sometimes it could be monotonous
Advice to Senior Management
Work on team work
Pros
Great advancement opportunities. Diverse work environment.
Cons
Fast pace might be a downside to some
Pros
not so tough, causal working style, great people, great mentor ship, great resources, great benefits, great work place, great activities
Cons
company is too big, when I am working a product which is created twenty five years ago, it is always not so easy
Advice to Senior Management
not so much advice. the training is great, the colleagues are awesome. I like the work place, I love to be here
Pros
good pay and benefits, as typically seen in oil and gas industry
Cons
management bureaucracy, which is a big hassle at the place
Advice to Senior Management
Please allow your employees chances to shine, which is kinda hard at this place, especially if you are new employees.
