Current Employee - MWD Field Specialist in Houston, TX

    Pros

Great benefits, work experience and looks good on resume. The company itself is a great employer and they have a great safety policy.

    Cons

They always give excuses not to give you a raise. The pay is midrange as far as day rates are concerned and they promise time off but you never get it. They treat the field hands like garbage and act like they own you and your life. You are on call 24/7 365 days a year and at the rate you earn vacation days, don't expect any time off for at least 6 months. Unless you are single and don't mind living at the rig and going job to job to job without a break, stay far far away from this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire enough people to give your field hands time off. Treat them as they want a life and not just work them all the time. Fix your pay scale and vacation time. Also, a rotation or schedule would be a start to keeping people instead of constantly training new hires because people quit constantly.

Current Employee - Sourcing Specialist in Houston, TX

    Pros

SLB invests a lot of time and money for specialized training

    Cons

Health benefits aren't as great as Halliburton. Halliburton has 3 levels of co-pay with an HSA option.

SLB only has a high and low deductible plan with a co pay option for only a few healthcare categories.

On top of that SLB's health plans cost more than HAL's

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break the mold and take more calculated risks
