    Pros

Schlumberger is a very good company. If Schlumberger had known what to do with the water services, it could have been a very robust and interesting company to work for. Failure of Schlumberger management to integrate the division and understand the consulting mark will be the downfall of the division.

    Cons

Schlumberger water services market has narrowed to the point where it can really on provide limited services to the mining industry. SWS has given up on technology and is trying to milk the last bit of profit out of existing employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Sell it and move one.

    Pros

Acquired as part of larger company (SLB), some greater job stability

    Cons

All of the benefits of working for a small company vanished, with none of the benefits of working for schlumberger to take its place; no opportunity for career advancement, pay stayed pathetically low, work load increased, expected results stayed the same and increased without any real support to grow the employees or the business unit. No real motivation to stay which is why most of the people I know have left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your technical people in SWS the same way you do in OFS or you will lose them. But I think you already know that.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
