    Pros

Benefits, Urlaub, Arbeitsplatz ... das Drumherum passt.

    Cons

Konzen-Strukturen erfordern oft scheinbar unnötige Tätigkeiten. Manchmal kommts auch sinnier daher ... ein gesundes Phlegma ist von Nöten ...

    Advice to Management

Die Leute mal das machen lassen, wofür sie eingestellt wurden ... viele administrative Tätigkeiten erschweren effektives Arbeiten!

    Pros

Straightforward culture and a very accessible management

    Cons

Carrier evolution relying more on internal networking than formal homogeneous process could be challenging for new comers.

  3. Schneider is a very big company to work for that has acquired a lot of companies over the years. Overall, they're good.

    Pros

Great benefits, stable job, well experienced people, and lots of opportunities to move around to different industries within the company. There is always a new side of the business you can learn from.

    Cons

Company culture is hard to define because of it's size. Like a lot of big companies, it seems hard to make quick, prompt, decisions. It's go to market strategy is convoluted because it's grown from so many different acquisitions.

    Advice to Management

SIMPLIFY Processes. They are trying to do that but in big companies, this takes time. In big companies, with every action, there is a reaction to deal with.

I have been working at Schneider Electric

    Pros

Calgary office is a "Cool site" so lots of social events and small office parties on big days such as new years, st. patricks day, chinese new year, easter etc.

Social club does good events almost once every month and gives good discounts for various services in calgary

Open office concept so good for collaboration. You really get to see alot of people here and make connections.

Telvent is trying to realign itself with Schneider's policies so there are both procs and cons here. Right now the company is in the midst of restructuring itself and there are alot of opportunities for employees to move around in departments if they desire

Good travel opportunities if you have been here for 1+years.

Flexible hours. As long as you manage your work and get it done, you are appreciated.

For a new hire, vacation (incl sick days) is about 20 days which is more than most companies.

    Cons

HUGE learning curve on the software. Documentation is hardly any.

If on the service side, career progression really depends on your manager. Some managers are good and some are not so good.

A lot of perks have been discontinued since Schneider took over. That happens when any major take over happens.

Pay - currently not so great.

Work in service is very routine like. Not enough documentation, dealing with charge code headaches and no focus on building internal tools for better learning and development of the employees

Dont expect huge salary raises. It really depends on your manager though.

    Advice to Management

Train managers to be better leaders.
Focus on encouraging employees to build internal tools for better performance.
    Knowledge sharing should be encouraged.
    Better compensation.
Strive for a better work-life balance by introducing flex days.

    Pros

Good exposure to lean techniques and methodologies, and applying lots of SPS routes is a good way to teach you Lean in a one-step-at-a-time technique. Good working environment with most of the employers in the same age range and background.

    Cons

Trainings wasn't as much as supposed to, but a seeker would find a way to reach his purpose through the e-learning modules and the SPS database, adding to that the exposure to foreigners with good working experience.

    Advice to Management

Should consider more to discover the young calibers and build potential leaders from them to sustain the managerial hierarchy in balance.
Invest in the teams with suitable trainings needed and career path building.
