    Negative Outlook

I worked at Scholastic Book Fairs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great mission, and purpose to drive toward. Putting Books in the Hands of Children. Read every day, Lead a better life. Children are our future.

    Cons

Often those words are Propaganda. At Scholastic you lose the autonomy, creativity, or control in work / job role. Poor Upper Management leadership and communication. Do as I say. Swim with caution. This company continues to restructure, and close facilities and eliminate layers of operations and positions. Advancement near impossible.

    Advice to Management

Return to "making work fun". Reward for hard work, and not just unrealistic financial Budgets or goals. Acknowledge and celebrate branch and individual successes meaningfully.

    Pros

Very pleasant people to work with. Was given bonuses during Thanksgiving and Christmas along with a Turkey. When we had an ice storm and we were not able to come in because the warehouse was out of Power we were still paid. My Supervisor was Dan at the time. He was very nice and knew what he was doing.

    Cons

A little disorganized but things were always done in a timely manner.
